Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Estimator/Constructability Review Engineer to be based in Oakland, CA.

  • Under minimal supervision, performs complex duties utilizing advanced techniques and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and methods.
  • The Senior Estimator is responsible for the overall development of construction projects estimates working in collaboration with the design and construction groups.
  • Prepares estimates with the proper level of detail for all stages of design including Conceptual, Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents.
  • Reviews design documents for proper information to receive accurate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, generates acceptable value engineering ideas.
  • Review subcontractor and supplier proposals for conformity to scope of work requirements.
  • Participate in the preparation of bidders Scopes of Work, Bid Tabulations and proposals.
  • Be familiar with current labor and material pricing, maintain a historic database by project and system type.
  • Establish good working relationships with trade subcontractors
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 Years of relevant experiencer demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Driving is required for this position

Preferred requirements:

  • 12 years demonstrated experience in highway/bridge construction projects.

  • Experience in estimating highway and bridge construction projects.

  • Experience in Constructability Reviews of Roadway and Bridge Projects

  • Demonstrated experience with commercialized estimating programs.

  • Experience in Alternate Project Delivery Method

  • Experience with clients such as Caltrans, BATA, local California Transportation Authorities and self-help Counties.

  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing and to work with multi stakeholders.

  • Ability to prepares bid packages, conceptual estimates and analysis of subcontractor bids, etc. for projects.

  • Ability to develops detailed material take-offs for estimate development.

  • Experience in cost consulting from inception to completion and ongoing cost advice to clients.
