Food Services Assistant III

OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, serve as a lead worker with responsibilities involving food service production and assist in the preparation of a variety of foods at a school site kitchen that offers school meal programs including breakfast and lunch.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Cooperate in developing an efficient workflow;
•Follow the predetermined menu and follow established procedures;
•Prepare meal components for school meals;
•Set up a conveyor line for packing meals and a work line;
•Maintain count of tickets and items prepared;
•Heat and pack meals for transportation to satellite schools;
•Place in-house orders for food and supplies from the freezer and storage;
•Set up serving line for meal service;
•Operate meal ticket program for the site;
•Count and sort elementary promotional materials;
•Assist with production, transportation, and inventory reports;
•Serve/cashier meals;
•May assist with supervising student helpers;
•Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of food service equipment and other clean-up tasks;
•Ensure that tools and equipment are properly cleaned, maintained, stored, and secured.
•Perform related duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
•Follow directions and communicate effectively orally and in writing;
•Estimate food quantities;
•Maintain records;
•Work independently;
•Work cooperatively with others;
•Prepare, set up, and serve food according to established procedures
