WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): Under general guidance, perform complex analysis of financial records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated, and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred. Prepare income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and various other accounting statements and reports. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities): Analyze financial reports and records; make studies or recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures. Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records. This may include accounts receivable/payable ledgers. Coordinate accounting matters with other departments, locations, and divisions. Conduct special studies and develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures. Analyze accounting data, business results, and develop management reports. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications): Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or related field required. Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Knowledge of applicable principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Basic proficiency in use of Personal Computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database applications when applicable. Ability to work on a team. Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state, and Red Cross system. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
