Position Summary:

The Safety Manager works to protect the Company, its employees, clients, equipment, and the public through safety awareness training and claims management. Works with managers, supervisors, supervisors, and staff at multiple divisions, locations, and departments to promote safety. Addresses safety compliance concerns with federal, state, and local agencies. This position also identifies, develops, and maintains vendors to purchase safety supplies and equipment.

Your Role:
  • Maintain federal, state, local, and Company safety compliance.
  • Maintain complete driver DOT records.
  • Conduct required employee safety training.
  • Investigate, report, and manage claims.
  • Address violations of Company Safety policies by conducting focused training and recommending discipline
  • Complete timely and meaningful performance reviews
  • Take an active role in improving safety and health in the workplace.
  • Purchase safety supplies and equipment
  • Oversee drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Conduct facilities inspections
  • Maintain Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance
  • Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.
Your Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, work independently, and carry assignments to completion.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to receive and understand oral and written instructions from Residential Driver, Route Manager, and Dispatch.
  • Reliable and dependable.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Driver's license with CDL
  • Be legally Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Gritty, outgoing, and eager to learn.
  • The environment is fast-paced, and the person in this role must be proactive, hardworking, highly organized, and an independent critical thinker.
