Responsibilities:
  • Plan, evaluate, execute, and measure activities in accordance with departmental guidelines to include, deliverables, budget, and timeline.
  • Plan and oversee the work of the accounting staff, establishing procedures, as needed, to accomplish the timely and accurate completion of accounting needs and general ledger maintenance.
  • Investigates discrepancies with 3rd party sites.
  • Manage the month end closing process in order to allow for the accurate and timely analysis of financial information.
  • Develops, maintains, and analyzes reconciliation and budget for capital assets and depreciation expense.
  • Assists with the financial statement audit and any other audits as required.
  • Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits.
  • Review and modify procedures, as needed, to maintain sound internal controls; ensure system design and processes support accuracy and accountability; follow up on recommendations made by internal and external auditors for changes.
  • Coordinates with American Congress of OBGyn PAC. Retrieve quarterly report, prepares journal entry, post and reconcile general ledger balance.
  • Develop, Maintain, and analyze reconciliation and budget for capital assets and depreciation expense.
  • Examine general ledger accounts, collect information, perform reconciliation, and prepare adjustment entries. Follows and apply processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts to third party site and investigate variance in order to provide recommendations for change, improvement and further understanding.
  • Calculate, file, and process payment of sales tax to states,
  • Responsible for reconciling main operating bank account.
  • Consistently work with an equity lens and analysis into work product by addressing structural implications and disproportionate impacts of policies, activities, and decisions.
  • Performs Special Projects.
  • Provide direction for Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience required.
  • Minimum of one to two years of supervisory experience required.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and tax law related to not-for-profit organizations.
  • Ability to interact positively with member/volunteer officers in management of their district and section financial affairs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Adaptive insights skills preferred.
  • Ability to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated.
  • Ability to travel.

Compensation

The base salary for this position is $103,000 to $113,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, ACOG offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes the perks outlined below.
