Quality Engineer- Wadsworth Ohio

We are searching for an experienced Quality Engineer for a manufacturing company located in Wadsworth Ohio. The candidate selected for this position will ensure Company and/or Customer initiatives, policies and procedures during the development, implementation and auditing stages of production and/or administrative support. Quality Engineers are ultimately responsible for the caretaking and enforcement of the Company's Business Improvement Policy as well.

100% Onsite Role
Salary 85-100k

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to Schedule - Onsite Attendance
  • Assist Quality Manager with the facilitation of all company quality standards and procedures.
  • Formulate and maintain Quality Objectives through communication and coordination with Sales, Engineering, Production Management and Personnel.
  • Design/Implement or Supervise the adherence of Quality Control Training Programs if/where needed as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Assist Quality Manager through interfacing with outside auditors/customers/vendors.
  • Develop components of and complete PPAPs and First Article Inspections for product release to ensure product repeatability and reliability.
  • Develop FMEAs, Control Plans and applicable Standard Work current for processes and products that the Quality Engineer has or shares responsibility.
  • Attend or assist with APQP meetings and launches.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions to facilitate continuous improvement of products and processes.
  • Assist Quality Assurance Manager when working with steel, component, and process (plating, coating, welding, heat treating, etc.) suppliers to ensure quality incoming product and conformance to customer and company requirements and specifications.
  • Work with Production and with cross-functional teams to disposition product and process nonconformances and assist Quality Assurance Manager with reporting Quality Metrics.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (preferred) or Business Administration
  • Quality-Related Field Certifications required (i.e. ASQ, Six-Sigma, Lean, QE etc.)
  • Exposure or working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience in steel manufacturing, fabrication, and/or resistance spot welding preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Inspection process experience/knowledge, including auditing, tools, measurement systems, etc.
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, Control Plans, PPAPs, First Article Inspections, and other standardized Quality requirements and methodologies.
