Job Summary

Serves as administrative support to loan officer. Performs various duties including processing applications, preparing loan documents and general ledger tickets, and assisting with loan closings. Provides excellent customer service to Bank's customers through loan process.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares various documents/forms/letters using designated templates associated with loans; release letters and liens on loans, amendments on real estate loans, transfer of title forms, etc. assuring bank policies, procedures, and compliance issues are met.
  • Inputs new loan requests, renewals, extensions, denials, etc. into Hawthorn River loan processing program. Evaluates and proofs all related loan documents for accuracy and completeness prior to submission to Loan Processing.
  • Schedules customer appointments and conducts loan closings. Prepares loan disbursement checks/deposits. Uploads all completed loan documents to Hawthorn River and submits necessary hard copies to loan administration in a timely manner.
  • Provides excellent customer service, answering customers' questions and concerns. Greets and directs all customers entering the area to their proper bank destination. Assists customers by notarizing documents, answering questions regarding loans and screening walk-in customers to direct them to the appropriate lender.
  • Answers any incoming phone calls to the department as needed.
  • Provides walk-in loan customers with the proper application to suit their loan requests.
  • Reviews written applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Enters applications into Hawthorn River as needed.
  • Pulls credit reports on all applications and renewals in Hawthorn River.
  • Creates, balances and runs all loan tickets.
  • Proofs new/renewed loan documentation and performs file maintenance to existing accounts.
  • Reviews collateral and customer exception reports. Secures and sends through Maintenance Tracker needed documentation to clear exception items. Corresponds with customers on behalf of Loan Officer to obtain required financial information as needed.
  • Assists officer by reviewing past due and loans maturing lists. Reviews and sends past due and payment due notice letters to customers. Enters information for renewals/extensions of loans into Hawthorn River, provides requested documentation, and closes renewing/extended loans.
  • Orders flood determinations, appraisals, title work etc. through Hawthorn River.
  • Coordinates with title companies and mortgage operations division to schedule closings.
  • May prepare loan advances on draw loans and follow up on past due loans.
  • Participates in a team effort to cross-sell other bank services and products.
  • Maintains a high level of cooperation and rapport with all officers and other employees and departments.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
Requirements

Education and Experience
  • High School education or equivalent
  • Minimum one years of experience in banking or lending
  • Must have or receive NMLS clearance
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be knowledgeable of the different types of loans and loan documents including all commercial and agricultural loans.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and work independently, while taking initiative to complete tasks as needed.
  • Requires great attention to detail, ability to recall and multi-task, and good organizational skills.
  • Strong customer relations skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and resourcefulness to resolve issues.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office.
