As a Permit Specialist I, you will be entering the dynamic field of permit acquisition, and will provide you with valuable learning opportunities to develop a foundational understanding of ALLO's permitting process. You will support the Permit Team in day-to-day activities, contributing to research, documentation, and administrative tasks adhering to relevant regulations related to obtaining various project permits. Your enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and attention to detail will be instrumental in assisting the team and ensuring the smooth progression of projects through the permitting phase.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates Company's ALLO's Core Values-Local, Hassle Free, Honest and Exceptional.
  • Submit various permits to support aerial and underground construction to various permitting entities.
  • Assist in researching and gathering information on permit requirements, zoning codes, environmental regulations, and other relevant laws.
  • Help maintain accurate records and documentation related to permit applications and approvals.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Permit Tech II and Permit Tech IIIPermitting and Design Teams including data entry, file organization, and document preparation.
  • Help with the preparation of permit applications by gathering necessary documentation and technical specifications.
  • Support the team in tracking the progress of permit applications and updating project teams on their status.
  • Collaborate with multiple team members to ensure all required permits are valid and correct until the permit is closed. Documentation is submitted promptly.
  • Learn to review project plans and designs to identify potential permit compliance issues.
  • Assist in monitoring ongoing permit compliance and flagging any concerns to the appropriate team members.
  • Create Monthly Bill of Materials for all current designs within 3-GIS.
  • Participate in communication with regulatory agencies and local authorities under the guidance of more experienced permit team members.
  • Take notes during meetings and assist in following up on action items as needed.
  • Actively participate in training sessions and workshops to expand your knowledge of permit acquisition processes and relevant regulations.
  • Seek guidance from experienced team members to enhance your understanding of the permit field.
Colorado Residents: typical pay range for this role will be from $17-$21 per hour depending on experience.

EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Urban Planning, etc.) is a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Previous Permitting Experience preferred, but not required
  • Basic knowledge of map reading and basic permitting is preferred but not required
  • Community Fiber Planning experience is strongly preferred.
  • Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office experience preferred.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of office software and tools, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, or Google Earth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
