Job DetailsJob LocationConner Prairie Museum - Fishers, INPosition TypePart TimeJob ShiftAnyJob CategoryNonprofit - Social ServicesDescriptionPrincipal Function: The Production Assistant, working in collaboration with the Senior Manager of Events and Programs, Production Supervisor and Technical Coordinator, assists with planning and executing production needs for Conner Prairie's programs, events and festivals throughout the year.Daytime hours vary but are typically from 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Evening hours during Festivals are typically from 5pm-11pm Thursday through Sunday. Occasionally hours may fall outside the parameters listed here. This role is part time up to 29 hours per week.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to: Assists with planning and coordinating onsite logistics for festivals and select public programs including setup and tear down of sets, props, decorations, scenes, games, stages, or other attractions.Helps oversee training and mentorship of Production Crew as it relates to event production including safety and job-specific skills.Monitors sets, props, decorations, equipment, etc. and troubleshoots and/or repairs items as needed.Provides operational support for community theater partnerships and productions.Serves on cross-functional, internal project teams as assigned.Exemplifies Conner Prairie's Customer Service Purpose, Beliefs, and Commitment to serve in all interactions with guests, vendors, volunteers, and other staff members.Supervisory Responsibilities: This job may provide direction to part-time flex and event-specific staff.Education and/or Experience: GED/High School Diploma desired. Audio/Video, theater tech, and/or special event planning experience desired. Experience using hand tools (hammers, screw drivers, electric drills) desiredPrevious experience in an event-planning role is desired. Previous supervisory experience is desired. Familiarity with power tools (drills, saws, etc.) is desired.The ability to prepare and maintain a financial budget is desired.The ability to operate a computer, printer, copy machine, scanner, fax machine, and other office equipment is required. The ability to speak, read and write in English is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.While the officers of Conner Prairie are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, this position will require work beyond these hours and on the weekends when open for special events.
