The incumbent of this position is responsible for monitoring the accuracy of student ledgers; payments, Federal Fund Disbursements, Refund to Students and RT24 Returns in accordance State/Federal regulations, accreditation standards and Company policies and procedures

Responsibilities:
  • Assure that all student receipts are recorded accurately and completely on a daily basis
  • Verify that tuition and fees are current and accurate on student ledgers each term
  • Prepares and distributes student account statements
  • Maintain the "holds" report and releases "holds" against delinquent accounts
  • Assists students with the student account questions and resolves escalated student account issues
  • Recommends actions in the collection of past due accounts
  • Delivers bank deposits to bank
  • Responsible for financial aid refunds or refunds credit balances on student accounts
  • Assists with the quarterly audit by preparing files for the audit, pulling designated samples and account reconciliations as needed
  • Keep current on billing and payment policies and procedures
  • Review out of school account balances and pre-collection letters and prepare for submission to collection agency
  • Respond to all internal and external inquiries regarding charges, payment policies and procedures.
  • Issues bills (invoices) to third party payers on a timely basis and frequently checks accounts to make sure paid
  • Conducts in-house collection activities, including preparing communication to students
  • Prepares and analyzes a monthly Student Accounts Receivable Aging Report
  • Oversee distribution of payment plans on student accounts
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • Experience in accounting/billing or financial aid in an education environment, ACCPAC Financial Package experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office/Excel
