Our challenge

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Automation QA with expertise in Java, Selenium, to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the automation testing efforts, ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions, and driving the implementation of best practices in test automation.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Minneapolis, MN, is $90k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, and Cucumber for web applications
  • Develop and maintain automated API tests using Postman for RESTful web services
  • Define and implement best practices for test automation, including the use of BDD frameworks and behaviour-driven testing methodologies
  • Work closely with development and product teams to understand requirements and create comprehensive test plans
  • Mentor and guide team members in test automation best practices and techniques
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address quality issues and drive continuous improvement in the testing process
  • Analyze test results and provide meaningful feedback to stakeholders
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a robust and scalable automation framework
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging tools and technologies in test automation
Requirements:

You are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in automation testing with a focus on Java, Selenium, Cucumber, and Postman API
  • Strong understanding of test automation principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in writing automated test scripts for web applications using Selenium WebDriver and Java
  • Experience in creating and executing API tests using Postman for RESTful web services
  • Knowledge of BDD frameworks, such as Cucumber, and behaviour-driven testing methodologies
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
