Tokyo Central is excited to announce that we are going to be opening a new store in the Torrance location. - Approved daily necessities or beauty products display or replenishment experience in retails store setting.
- To always have a positive attitude and to work well in a team environment. We want our associates can be the strong foundation of the department, make the tasks done, and ensure customers have excellent shopping experience with your friendly attitude and well displayed merchandises.

- To approach every situation with a YES attitude. Have or be willing to learn how to have the necessary confidence, commitment, and work together with team.
- The Key personality and characteristics that we require our store associates to have in order for them to accomplish their goals are the following: Punctuality, Attentiveness, Humbleness, Supportive, Great Sense of Humor, Good Listening Skills, Consistent, Progressive, and Proactive.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES in Lifestyle Department (Retail Associates) (responsibilities include, but are not limited to)
  • Organizes and stocks Lifestyle display areas per store's layouts, planograms and standards
  • Setting up and maintaining the condition of the Lifestyle Department
  • Ensures Lifestyle is handled, stocked, rotated and merchandised
  • Checks for damage and unacceptable quality, follows established return procedures with immediate supervisor
  • Ability to price, label, organize and rotate Lifestyle products per Marukai' standards
  • Proactively supports any promotional activity within the store and contributes to an effective working environment
  • Breaking down pallets, separating Lifestyle products for sales floor or back room prep area
  • Processing and/or wrapping Lifestyle products
  • Maintains a well-organized back stock/ work area
  • Ensures that all Lifestyle products are in it's right place, so shoppers can find what they need quickly and easily
  • Maintains good communication with store management, associates and suppliers/vendors
  • Serves as a back-up in other departments as needed
  • Stocking empty shelves and helps customer service department when the line gets very busy
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the store/ store upkeep
  • Notifies immediate supervisor of out of stock products
  • Notifies immediate supervisor of price discrepancies
  • Must be knowledgeable of merchandise placement and location
  • Must clean and sanitize work areas
Customer Service:
  • Providing premier customer service, including greeting them and responding to questions
  • Engaging in suggestive selling and other sales techniques
  • Meets or exceeds Department's sales goals assigned through the efficient execution of Company policies and proceduresMaintains cleanliness of work area, storage area, and selling floor
  • Ensures a safe and clean work environment
  • Cross Training: Store Support Associates exemplify teamwork and are open to and willing to be trained and step in when needed in all departments and similar skilled areas for filling and development opportunities.
  • Perform other tasks that would be instructed by Department Manager or Store Manager around the floor during busy times of the day

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

•High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

•Must be 18 or older to use sharp knives, use ladders, scaffolds or their substitutes, substitutes above 6 feet in height, and to operate or assist in operating power-driven machinery or equipment.

•Must be able to use job related equipment such as a stepping ladder, mop, and push carts

•No experience required, but a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a similar work environment is preferred

•Previous experience as a Retail Associate, Stocker, or Bagging Clerk is preferred

•Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds without aid

REQUIREMENTS:

•Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service
•Able to read, write, and do simple math problems
•Able to interpret, understand and follow instructions
•Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from the general public and management
•Ability to interact with all levels of management
•Must be able to operate pallet jack, scissor lift, baler, compactor and scrub machine
•Possess a food handling license or the ability to acquire one
