The Office of Multnomah County Auditor Jennifer McGuirk is looking for a Management Auditor (Performance Auditor) to join our team In this role, you're a critical thinker who works independently as well as a member of a cohesive team with a strong equity lens, and solid organizational and communication skills.

The Auditor's Office's mission is to promote accountable and equitable county government. We independently examine county programs; receive and investigate reports of suspected fraud, waste, and abuse of position; and serve as an impartial resource to help people resolve issues with county programs. We find out how well the county government is working, recommend improvements, and report to the public on our work.

As a member of the Auditor's office, you will be joining a team that is responsible for conducting performance audits of county government operations. The Management Auditor will be responsible for working as a team member to support, conduct, and prepare various sensitive and highly public audits, including performing risk analysis, and identifying and recommending areas for future audits and follow up. You will be joining a team that applies an equity lens in each step of their work, including evaluation, data analysis, and report recommendations. The team also recognizes community engagement efforts as critical to ensuring that communities affected by county programs and initiatives have meaningful opportunities to participate in audits.

Responsibilities in this role will include:

* Support, conduct, and prepare sensitive and highly public audits on county government operations.* Assist, develop, and facilitate community engagement practices and collaborate with community based organizations in order to ensure that community voices, insights and experiences shape audit objectives, findings, and recommendations.* Gather and interpret information from a variety of sources to conduct analysis of best practices and trends and to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.* Conduct and document interviews with individuals affected by the area under audit.* Collect and organize data and complete data analysis. Prepare reports and other documentation of audit findings.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:

* A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience* One year of prior work or intern experience in management, operations, performing auditing and analyses, or program evaluation* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders, community partners and staff.* Proven experience in working constructively, effectively, and respectfully in diverse settings with people of different cultural, racial, ethnic, national, religious, and gender backgrounds.* Working knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts, and experience with or a willingness to be trained in using a DEI lens and trauma-informed practices.* Ability to pass a criminal records check and professional reference check

Type of Position:
