Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller/Cost Accountant to join our team. The position will play a critical role in managing and analyzing the financial aspects of our manufacturing processes, ensuring accurate cost tracking, and providing insightful financial data to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment and possess excellent analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Required Experience with pay-scale of $75K - $100K.

-Cost Analysis and Reporting:

- Perform detailed cost analysis for all manufacturing processes.

- Prepare and present cost reports, including variances between actual and standard costs.

- Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on cost.

- Inventory Management:

- Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation.

- Conduct regular physical inventories and coordinate cycle counts.

- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in inventory records.

- Product Costing:

- Develop and maintain accurate product cost information.

- Review and update standard costs as necessary.

- Analyze and recommend pricing strategies based on cost data.

- Process Improvement:

- Identify areas for cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements.

- Participate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.

- Provide recommendations to management based on financial analysis and cost data.

Italicized experience to qualify for pay-scale of $100K - $130K.

- Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

- Monitor and report on budget variances and work with management to develop strategies for cost control.

- General Accounting

-Assists and provides back-up support and perform duties of A/P, A/R and Payroll duties as needed.

- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

- Financial Reporting:

- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

- Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- CPA or CMA certification preferred.

- Minimum of 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.

- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
