Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Vice President of IT Security and Infrastructure to lead the security strategy and infrastructure for A-G Specialty Insurance. This role is critical in securing our IT infrastructure, ensuring compliance with IT best practices and SOX standards. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in both cybersecurity and IT infrastructure and will drive initiatives that protect sensitive data, meet regulatory requirements, and support the growth of advanced analytics and technology capabilities.

Essential Duties & Functions

Duties will include:

Security & Strategy
  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive security strategy that aligns with business goals and industry regulations.
  • Lead all cybersecurity efforts to protect sensitive client data and proprietary information.
Infrastructure Management
  • Work closely with CIO to manage a high-performing team responsible for overseeing the entire IT infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance, including cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
  • Ensure robust measures are in place across all platforms, to protect sensitive data, ensure integrity, reliability, and data governance.
  • Work with other departments to support the development and maintenance of secure infrastructures for all enterprise applications.
  • Collaborate with executive team and department stakeholders to implement, test and maintain a robust Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan.
Compliance & Governance
  • Lead efforts to achieve and maintain SOCX compliance, ensuring all controls are effectively implemented and monitored.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain IT security policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with SOCX and industry-specific regulations.
  • Regularly audit and assess security practices and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and to identify areas for improvement.
  • Represent/oversee internal and external IT audit engagements with all key partners.
Development and Analytics
  • Provide security oversight and infrastructure support for all R&D, including AI research and analytics, ensuring that data processing environments are secure, resilient, and compliant.
  • Work closely with data, development, and AI teams to ensure security protocols are implemented throughout the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Ensure that user access and data governance policies are in place to protect sensitive information handled within all R&D environments.
Risk Management & Incident Response
  • Lead risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities, and develop mitigation plans to address potential risks across the company's infrastructure.
  • Establish a robust incident response plan to quickly address and resolve any security breaches or issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Communicate security risks and strategies to the executive team, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and up-to-date knowledge of threat landscape.
  • Partner with all stakeholders to formalize and deploy security updates, evaluating disruption, and using a risk-based approach.
  • Coordinate with external partners and vendors to ensure third-party security practices align with internal standards and business continuity expectations.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Work with CIO in building and leading a strong, capable security and infrastructure team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of security and service across the organization.
  • Stay current on emerging threats, technologies, and regulations to continuously evolve and improve the company's security posture.
Job Skills
  • Deep knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, SOC2 compliance, and data governance.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD infrastructure, cloud security, AI development support, and analytics security.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and fix security risks.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing IT security policies, risk management, and incident response strategies.
  • Working knowledge of security standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, HIPAA, FFIEC CAT, GDPR)
  • Exceptional leadership, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Clear and concise communication skills both written and verbal
  • Effectively works under the pressure and to agreed deadlines and targets
  • Ability to manage multiple projects

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience: 10+ years of experience in IT security management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a hybrid position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The schedule for this role can be modified upon Supervisor and Human Resources approval. Some evening and weekend work may be required. Trainings and team meetings may require coming into the office.

Travel

Limited travel would be encouraged for trainings or team meetings. This would be discussed ahead of time and agreed upon between both Supervisor and employee.
