Application Support Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide leadership and manage Application Support Team. Provide technical support to Turck reps, distributors, customers, and potential customers by means of providing solutions and selection of product (s) to best fulfill their needs. Oversee and evaluate incoming warranties in the lab and contact the pertinent people for each warranty.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The job requires a four-year Engineering degree and/or five or more years related experience. Continuous education and specific discipline training, along with PE is considered a plus. Must have knowledge and experience in control/machine design, installation of same, conversant with UL, CSA, FM, 3A, NEMA, IEC standards, moderate familiarity with PLC and industrial computers and software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Applications and customer support with department management.

2. Answering phones and providing support and giving technical information to those who request it. Follow up on potential sales calls and try to work with potential customers.

3. Cross Referencing-Time spent crossing both short and sometimes very large lists of competitive part numbers to Turck numbers.

4. Lab Work, evaluating warranties, testing new products, evaluating competitive products and calibrating outgoing products. This is as needed and can be assigned to team members.

5. Sales Calls/Trade Shows -Time spent going out on local sales calls as requested or attending and working one of the out-of-town trade shows. This is as needed.

6. Builds and manages the design and facilitation of training solutions for new Application Engineers, as well as organizing/coordinating training of product for the Application Engineers from the divisions and others for on-site and in-the-field Product Technology seminars.

7. Travel Coordination – this includes lining up the Application Engineers for travel to the field to help cover regions and territories as needed, as well as simultaneously ensuring there is enough phone coverage internally.

8. Perform other related duties as assigned, including handling and assigning warranties, general department issues and challenges.

9. Maintaining weekly team & quarterly 1:1 meetings with all employees. Participating in the development and training of all team members.

10. Organizing ongoing training for the team. Working with the subject matter experts throughout Turck to continually provide new and refresher material to the team.

11. Assist in hiring and onboarding new employees.

12. Maintaining schedules to ensure coverage on phones and application support inbox as well as coverage for training, trade shows and PTO schedules. #J-18808-Ljbffr
