Hughes Company, Inc. teamPosition DescriptionThe Operations Manager will oversee warehouse operations in several locations, potentially multi-state.This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage inventory, optimize storage space, and ensure the efficient movement of goods within the warehouse and between assigned locations. This role is expected to adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.Key Competencies Required to be Successful as an Operations ManagerManage multiple locations day-to-day warehouse operations through their on-site teams, including receiving, storing, and shipping of goods.Supervise warehouse staff, providing leadership, training, and guidance to ensure optimal performance.Develop and implement procedures for inventory management, including cycle counts, stock rotation, and order fulfillment.Maintain accurate inventory records and track key metrics such as inventory turnover and stock levels.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding storage and handling of all products.Optimize warehouse layout and storage systems to maximize space utilization and improve efficiency.Coordinate with other departments, such as customer care, procurement, and inventory, to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of materials.Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to streamline warehouse operations.Oversee maintenance of warehouse equipment and facilities, ensuring proper functioning and safety standards are met.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and achieve operational goals.Perform warehouse audits of the operations, processes, and inventory management (e.g. warehouse shipping, accuracy, spend etc.) to help identify areas for improvement within the warehouse that can increase efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve customer service.Complete other duties and projects as assigned.Education/Certification/LicensesBachelor's degree in supply chain/ logistics, business or related field required.Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in Management role.Multi-site operational/ P&L responsibility required.Skills That Will Make You Successful Passionate about delivering a phenomenal Customer Experience and Best in Class Service Delivery.Ability to drive sales and motivate your team.Knowledgeable with ERP / inventory management systems.Expertise in capacity planning, forecasting, real-time management, reporting and scheduling.Able to work with large amounts of data to identify trends and patterns.Proficient in Office software: Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.Flexible and adaptable to meeting the evolving needs of a high-growth and fast paced organization.Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
