, leads the overall planning and direction of multi-channel direct response fundraising programs for our agency clients, through partnerships with the strategy and creative teams to ensure that campaigns meet clients’ marketing and financial objectives. The Account Director oversees all aspects of program growth and execution, including client relationships, strategy development, analytics reporting and oversight, and channel integration. Directs the activities of the team to maintain effective and efficient operations while ensuring compliance with established standards and practices and fulfillment of critical deadlines. Leads the team planning and management to include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training staff; coaching, developing, and mentoring staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluation and review of team members; staff rewards. Oversees conflict and problem resolution and discipline, in accordance with Moore’s policies and applicable regulations. Develops and executes all necessary training for the team, from new systems to upgrades and changes, ensuring that the team remains competent and flexible. Duties/Responsibilities: Leads strategic, tactical and support functions by overseeing collaboration within internal teams in order to exceed client expectations and to resolve issues as they arise. Serves as primary client contact to understand the client’s overall objectives and requirements. Manages client expectations and escalates to senior leadership when feedback conflicts with agreed upon strategy or when at-risk situations are identified. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with the client and across Moore to facilitate effective campaign planning and reporting. Ensures that required agency resources are available and that scope is managed appropriately. Develops long term strategic plans in partnership with the strategy team designed to ensure account retention, continued account success and realistic program expansion. Contributes to the quarterly and annual business forecasting and reforecasting by providing account trends and sharing future client needs. Analyzes results of campaigns, including all channel activity and the impact of one channel upon another. Tracks and analyzes results of test mailing programs. Reports to client on budget and donor activity. Develops and implements new and innovative approaches to provide, expand or improve current practices. Presents recommendations to client. Shares ideas and client needs throughout all phases of client life cycle (plan, design, integrate, implement, manage). Oversees the development of campaigns plans and budgets by account team. Supervises the preparation of and conducts presentations for clients and prospective clients. May supervise account team staff. Directs external vendors as needed. Strives to continuously stay informed about industry standards, best practices, postal regulations, production processes and innovative products. Contributes to Moore’s presence in the direct response fundraising industry through knowledge sharing via whitepapers and conference presence. Participates in trade shows by representing Moore and sharing information on company services. Performs other duties as required. Required Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of and experience with marketing for nonprofits, with expertise in the following channels: direct mail, digital (including telemarketing, email, social or mobile marketing), direct response television. Must have strong direct response knowledge. Exceptional talent for managing client relationships required. Excellent and persuasive written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with staff, community leaders and senior level executives required. Agency experience preferred, with a focus on partnering with nonprofit organizations, successfully advocating for the client and their donors. Ability to lead in a team environment to meet client fundraising goals. Ability to develop annual plans and projections, effective strategic planning capabilities. Ability to handle multiple complex projects in a deadline-driven environment; a resourceful self-starter who can take initiative and follow through on projects. Ability to remain calm and collected under pressure, adaptable and flexible in an ever-changing environment. Demonstrated ability to be a creative and resourceful problem solver. Exhibits sound and accurate judgement. Strong ability to provide analysis and strategy for client services and to stay abreast of current industry trends, including post promotion analysis. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, driven and goal oriented. Demonstrated outstanding organizational, time management and planning expertise. Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment. Effectively manages personnel. Must have proficiency in MS Office and strong analytical skills. Advanced Excel skills required. Education and Experience: 8-10 years’ experience in national, nonprofit, multi-channel, direct response fundraising required, preferably with an agency or a large national, nonprofit organization. Experience must include direct mail, digital marketing, digital acquisition, and telemarketing. DRTV experience a plus. 5 years’ experience in a management or leadership position. Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from accredited college or university required; Master’s Degree preferred. Physical Requirements: The Account Director position requires indoor work in an office setting. This position will require regular travel. The employee is required to communicate, express oneself and exchange information with others. The employee must have vision abilities sufficient to read work materials and computer data screens. The employee is sometimes required to move throughout the work area to access files, office equipment, supplies.
