Responsibilities:

Fundraising and Major Donor Cultivation:

  • Develop and implement strategic fundraising initiatives to secure financial support for the organization's ongoing and new projects.
  • Cultivate relationships with major donors and corporate partners to ensure sustainable funding for current and future programs.
  • Create and execute personalized stewardship plans for major donors, maintaining consistent communication and engagement.

Board Stewardship and Communication:

  • Foster strong relationships with the Board of Directors, serving as a frontline resource for Board members and facilitate their internal networking, overall engagement and ability to serve our mission.
  • Provide regular updates to the board on fundraising progress, event outcomes, and membership program growth, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Staff the Nominating & Governance Committee and maintain the list of prospective Board members.
  • Collaborate with the President & CEO and board leadership to develop board engagement strategies and facilitate board involvement in fundraising and development efforts.

Buchholz Fellowship Program Management:

  • Oversee the management and development of the prestigious Buchholz Fellowship Program, designed to attract talented and passionate individuals to support our mission.
  • Lead the recruitment process for fellowship candidates, identifying exceptional individuals who align with our organization's values and goals.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to fellows throughout their tenure, ensuring they have a meaningful and impactful experience during their time with the Committee of Seventy.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to integrate fellows into various projects and initiatives, maximizing their contributions and professional growth.

Event Planning and Execution:

  • Plan, organize, and oversee a variety of events, including fundraisers, galas, and member engagement activities.
  • Coordinate event logistics, vendor management, and volunteer support to ensure successful and memorable events.
  • Utilize creativity and innovation to design events that appeal to diverse audiences and align with the organization's mission.

Membership Program Management:

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive membership program to attract, retain, and engage supporters of the Committee of Seventy.
  • Implement strategies to increase membership participation, satisfaction, and overall membership growth.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to create targeted membership outreach/engagement campaigns and marketing materials.

Strategic Planning and Leadership:

  • Work closely with the President & CEO and the Board of Directors to develop long-term fundraising and operational strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices, identifying opportunities for the organization's growth and improvement.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in development, fundraising, and event planning within the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully cultivating and securing major gifts from individual donors and corporations.
  • Experience in running a successful membership program and effectively engaging members is a plus.
Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle challenges with a positive attitude;
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules;
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and projects;
  • The ability to collaborate with a wide variety of people, personalities, and working styles;
  • Detail-oriented and able to see the larger picture in service of holistic and creative problem solving;
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively;
  • Extensive experience in planning and executing a wide range of events, from small-scale gatherings to large-scale fundraisers;
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple events simultaneously;
  • Understanding of how fundraising responsibilities contribute to C70's mission, embody its values, and achieve its long-term vision;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.

We offer a competitive salary ($95k - 110K, commensurate with experience) and benefits package.
