Job Title: Community Outreach Director

Status: Full Time

Location: REMOTE

Job Summary:

The Community Outreach Director is responsible for coordinating agency-wide outreach efforts to identify and communicate with homeless and at-risk veterans who may be eligible for the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program ("SSVF"). Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the Community Outreach Director works closely with the Development Director, and the rest of the leadership team at Nation's Finest to ensure relevant information is shared in a timely fashion in an easy-to-access format, whether on social or traditional media.

Job Duties:

  1. Work closely with the Leadership, SSVF Director, and Site Directors to develop and implement a coordinated, agency-wide communications plan and calendar.
  2. Promote the mission of Nation's Finest mission in addition to service offerings to ensure the benefits of the program are understood by eligible veterans and donors.
  3. Provide digital support to the operation of the appropriate database platform for Nation's Finest to facilitate outreach efforts.
  4. Engage in online conversations pertaining to low-income veterans, including managing the agency's website and social media presence to ensure that updated and accurate information and resources are being shared consistently.
  5. Monitor online dialogue and feedback, develop, and track key communication and enrollment metrics, and make recommendations for improvement.
  6. Prepares and delivers relevant corporate messages and materials to various site communities through customized materials, toolkits, and other methods.
  7. Acts as the liaison for internal and external communications with site communities. Provides regular status reports and project plans to community partners, as directed by the CEO.
  8. Produces relevant and informative literature describing the organization, its services, and its mission to enhance knowledge of NF's programs within the communities being served.
  9. Perform other related duties as directed.
Required Job Skills:
  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Accuracy in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  2. Strong computer skills and familiarity with data and word processing programs.
  3. Familiar with optimizing content for separate main-stream social media platforms.
  4. Comfortable using content management systems for websites.
  5. Understanding of audiences ranging from low-income clients to potential donors.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
  7. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products.
  8. Ability to work in a team environment and meet regularly with senior program staff to coordinate communication efforts, propose changes, and provide updates.
  9. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  10. Flexibility and willingness to perform multiple tasks in a work environment with changing communications needs.
  11. Reliably detail oriented.
  12. Able to maintain a cooperative working relationship with clients and staff.
Qualifications:

Four-year college degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing, and three to five years of work experience in these fields or similar combination of education and professional work experience.

Experience in the nonprofit sector is desirable but not required.

Military experience is desirable but not required.

$85k - Exempt.

WFH flexible position.
