Contact Center Specialist (Seasonal)

Onsite - Fairfield ME

Position Summary: The Contact Center Specialist is responsible for providing professional and high-quality customer service with a focus on guiding our commercial farmers and home gardeners. This position is key to the success of our customers and Johnny's Selected Seeds. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with an aptitude for finding the right solutions to customers' needs. Starting wage is $18 an hour.

This is a seasonal position based on-site at our Fairfield location, a minimum of 20 hours per week is required. There is an opportunity for the seasonal role to transition to a permanent role. This position starts October 28, 2024.

Compensation:

The starting wage is $18 an hour with opportunities for a shift differential and other incentives.

$250 sign on bonus after 30 days of employment. Johnny's Selected Seeds also offers Seasonal employees the opportunity to receive an end-of-season bonus of up to $500.00.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a superior experience to our customers and strive for one-call resolution.
  • Handle inbound calls.
    • Ability to handle 50+ calls per day.
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to our customers through multiple channels.
  • Learn and master our varied software systems and understand how each contributes to supporting a positive customer experience.
  • Complete, maintain, and process pertinent documentation and records with high accuracy and attention to detail to ensure data integrity in the order entry and customer management systems.
  • Support customers to resolve problems including order status questions, and other concerns and issues.
  • Take initiative to obtain and consistently upgrade personal product knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
  • Build positive relationships and work closely with co-workers within all levels of the organization.
    • Utilize the knowledge and experiences of the JSS staff to support the customer experience.
  • Regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to an agreed-upon schedule of availability is an essential function of this position.
Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Interest or prior experience in agriculture, farming, or home gardening.
  • Intermediate Computer Skills.
  • Ability to work with more than one computer program simultaneously.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office products.
  • Solid attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Adaptability and ability to self-direct, work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Maintain a friendly but professional attitude.
  • Proven ability to learn difficult information quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
Required Hours:

Expectation to commit to a standard shift with a minimum of 20 hours per week. The operating hours below are subject to seasonal needs and may vary.
  • Mon-Fri, 8 AM - 5 PM
  • Sat-Sun, 8 AM - 5 PM
  • Extended hours 8 AM - 8 PM
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to read, count, and write to complete all documentation accurately.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
  • Ability to sit at a computer for at least 75% of the work day.
  • Ability to bend, pull, and lift to 25 pounds.
