Client Services Representative

(bilingual in Spanish and English) for Esperanza Center who provides direct services, guidance, and a wide array of referrals and resources to clients. Maintains a working knowledge of the services offered by Esperanza Center, Catholic Charities, and community partner organizations to effectively guide and orient clients who have questions about accessing services. A core function of this position will be to provide fingerprinting services to potential sponsor families of unaccompanied immigrant children before the children are released from U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement shelters. This position will additionally support Spanish-speaking applicants to the SNAP program (Supplementary Nutritional Assistance Program).

Esperanza Center is a comprehensive immigration resource center whose mission is to help immigrants navigate life in a new country. Our dedicated staff and volunteers provide services related to education, healthcare, immigration legal matters, family reunification, and general community support to thousands of immigrants each year.

Work Schedule will include: Tu/Th: 4-8pm, Sat: 8:30-4:30pm,

other hours to be determined during standard M-F workweek

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Interviews, screens, and refers clients to appropriate programs and/or agencies. Prepares documents for clients, as appropriate. Acts as client advocate with various city, state, and private agencies. Updates databases in a timely manner. Provides administrative services to the Family Reunification Specialist (FRS) and serves as backup for the FRS. Assists the FRS with scheduling fingerprint appointments, completing Family Reunification Packets, and mailing fingerprint cards for clients. Tracks trends and maintains in-depth knowledge of services available to the community by attending community events, trainings, workshops, meetings, and resource fairs. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree; or, associate degree with 2 years of experience in Customer Service, Nonprofit, Case Management, or related field.

Requirements & Abilities

Proficient in Spanish and English (written and verbal) and able to provide written and/or verbal translation of documents. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent relational and customer service skills. Ability to work with minimal direction or supervision. Requires the ability to utilize computer systems and software necessary to perform position functions. Basic Windows PC, web browsing (i.e., Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.), and Microsoft Outlook skills required. Other Microsoft Office application knowledge, such as Word, Excel PowerPoint, Skype, and OneDrive desired.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods. Communicating with others to exchange information. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
