Description

  • Develop and support's Cost Management initiatives that deliver cost effective results and the right level of customer service to support the business.
  • Support the operations, compliance, and DOT - Regulatory related matter pertaining to Baldor Express Transportation remote locations.
  • Work to ensure all CSA scores meet FMSCA requirements and that all incidents and violations are kept to a minimum.
  • Maintain all vendor relationships within areas of responsibilities.
  • Work closely with Human Resources on the recruitment and retention of CDL drivers and ensure driver DOT compliance.
  • Proactively implement and manage all DOT compliance with a strong emphasis on Personal responsibility for accident prevention.
  • Monitor compliance of Driver Fleet Operations to ensure all personnel comply with all DOT regulations per the FMCSA and company policies.
  • Assist in the company documentation and investigation of accidents/incidents and coordinate effective response with appropriate management personnel.
  • Oversee safety training plans and organize execution.
  • Conduct training for drivers and manager to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and Baldor Express policies.
  • Maintain current and accurate list of all drivers; and manage driver eligibility for CDL and Non - CDL.
  • Maintains Driver Qualification Files in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and audit preventative maintenance and unplanned repair programs for regional shop operations, ensuring vehicle maintenance are completed on a timely basis.
  • Ensure daily vehicle inspections (DVIRs) are being performed by drivers and managed properly by each location with *he region. Ensure proper recordkeeping requirements are being met.
  • Manage the effective utilization of DOT-related IT systems including, Intellishift, and Driver's Alert.
  • Track and manage functionality and appropriate use of Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
  • Conducts routine DOT compliance audits.
  • Work in conjunction with Safety Department on vehicle incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Register and license all vehicles in the region.
  • Manage International Fuel Tax Association (IFTA) Reporting, the NY - HUT, and United Carrier Registration pertaining to DOT and within the required timeline.
  • Order stickers FOR TRUCKS OVER 26,001 GVWR and pass to the Fleet Manager to be applied and Quarterly tax returns online.
  • Apply for the annual BAXA (SCAC) credentials and give invoice to the Transportation Billing Office Clerk.
  • Track and manage the GPS/telematics, fuel card and toll pass programs.
  • Keep track of all DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance updates and provide reporting to Senior Managers. Local Distribution centers and Director of Transportation.
  • Ensure Compliance with Baldor Express Drug and Alcohol testing program and non - DOT drivers testing program in accordance with Baldor Express internal Policies and Procedures.
  • Supports customer service satisfaction, for both internal and external customers alike.
  • Support the Director oi Transportation on all Leasing, Maintenance, and Contractual Agreements pertaining to Transportation.
  • Supports the Director of Transportation on delivering against financial & operational metrics for Baldor markets
  • Manage Support, and Develop Transportation managers/supervisors, Transportation Overnight manager/supervisors. Compliance Supervisor, 2nd Run Supervisor, Transportation Office Manager and a team of administrators.
  • Ensures adequate staffing and scheduling are in place that supports an effective and continuous operation.
  • Identifies operational problems and quickly implements appropriate solutions
  • Responsible for promptly addressing and resolving problems/complaints raised by the plant and delivery teams
  • Operates with a Continuous Improvement mindset, creating and executing proactive steps to eliminate waste improve efficiencies and internal customer satisfaction
  • Ensures Managers train and organize their teams to have them capable of maintaining high performance levels
  • Ensures that Managers maintain the pulse of their teams.
  • Upholds, promotes and demonstrates an environment of honesty, integrity and candor throughout the department.
  • Official ambassador of safety, customer service, driver morale and the efficiency for the Baldor transportation operational team
  • Oversees the employee relations and personnel administration of 300+ commercial drivers
  • Support the coordination of periodic Managers, supervisors, and drivers meetings.
Requirements

Requirements:
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long hours.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, twist, and climb.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and jack.
  • Must be presentable at all times.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Must be organized.
  • GPS Tracking and transportation systems experience
  • Must be able to Climb, jump, walk up/down stairs.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Logistics or Supply Chain a plus
  • 7 years related experience in Transportation Management Logistics and Distribution or Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be fluent with DOT regulations, interstate laws, driver hour requirements
  • Must have food distribution & warehousing experience (perishable goods, preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Strong ability to work with different teams remotely.
  • Advanced ability to lead, organize and prioritize to maximize work productivity and assist in obtaining organizational goals.
