The Manager, Accounting is responsible for the Staff Accounting team; overseeing all aspects of accounting, including timely and accurate financial reporting to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, as well as assisting with conversion to HGB standards; implementing and maintaining policies, procedures, and intra-departmental communications; reviewing journal entries; reviewing reports and accounts included on the trial balance; coordinating annual external audit process. JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS Team Leadership and Development • Manages, selects, trains, motivates, reviews, coaches, develops, and retains a high-performance team. Fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. • Conducts timely and accurate employee performance evaluations; addresses performance issues as needed. Identifies training and development opportunities for team members. • Implements and maintains policies, procedures, and intra-departmental communications; maintains internal relationships by encouraging and providing timely, two-way flow of information between subordinates, management, and user groups. • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with team to receive updates and discuss projects, etc. Reporting and Analysis • Maintains adequate financial control structures including account reconciliations; reviews adjustments to the GL for period close, significant journal entries and analysis required. • Manage the monthly close ensuring proper financial balances are maintained and correctly accounted for. • Ensures GL bookings are consistent with US GAAP and leads technical accounting inquiries. • Oversees the preparation of accurate and timely GAAP financial statements; works collaboratively with the parent company to convert and report in HGB. • Assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures designed to improve methods of accounting and internal controls for the entire company. • Assists in other projects as needed including, but not limited to, tasks surrounding income and other tax needs, financial reporting, inventory analysis, cash forecasting and GAAP treatment interpretations. Compliance and Audits • Coordinates and facilitates the annual external audit. • Implements recommendations from audit findings to enhance internal controls and processes. • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes in the areas Staff Accounting is responsible for. Other • Provide leadership to not only the Accounting team, but to all departments of the company with regards to proper accounting and controls. • Assists with confidential Payroll and Headcount matters. • Works with Accounts Payable during weekly payment proposal, including wire and ACH processing. • Assists other departments with financial matters or calculation needs. • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned. • Will be required to travel up to 15% of the time. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Knowledge of computer programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, SAP, and SAP-BW • Knowledge of finance and accounting principles, practices, and regulations • Professional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects • Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and develop a team. • Ability to read and interpret agreements and implement relevant provisions of same • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to be credible and ethical at all times • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports • Ability to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude toward colleagues • Ability to adhere to the highest standards of quality while continually performing at the highest possible level. Education, Certification/License & Work Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required • MBA preferred • 6-8 years of related work experience required, including significant experience managing a team. • CPA required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Total Rewards Package Compensation Base: $109,000 to $155,000 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market. Bonus or Commission: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
