POSITION SUMMARY:

The Bilingual Adult Day Center (ADC) Coordinator is responsible for supervising employees and all aspects of the ADC to ensure that the program is being carried out effectively. In addition, this position requires developing, planning, and coordinating social and recreational activities for participants in the ADC and serving as a liaison with other agencies to coordinate and supervise activities and participants.

BILINGUAL ADC COORDINATOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate weekly and/or monthly educational, social, and informative activities promoting thedevelopment of cognitive, social, emotional, and motor skills for participants attending the Adult Day Center (ADC).
  • Prepare and submit reports in a timely manner as needed and required by funding sources, county, city, program director, etc.
  • Supervise and conduct performance of ADC staff, volunteers, and any other partner agencies.
  • Implement and recruit staff or volunteers to provide activities to participants in collaboration with the UCC Volunteers and Events Coordinator.
  • Oversee the operation of the daily care and services to ensure that the care and services are being carried out as required, and be able to troubleshoot and make decisions as needed, maintaining the highest level of compliance with licensing and safety regulations.
  • Handle issues, complaints, and challenges that may be addressed by the clients and/or their families/caregivers participating in the center.
  • Perform public relations; develop and implement an outreach/marketing plan to increase participation of clients attending the center.
  • Represent Elderly Programs/UCC at professional, funding, and/or other meetings, seminars, conferences, etc. in an effort to promote the program and services offered.
  • Ensure the efficient and timely gathering of ADC attendance and activity participation.
  • Report all ADC needs, including supplies and materials, to theSupervisor in a timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain a successful relationship with the Department of Aging, the County, Medicaid Long-Term Care Programs, UCC staff, participants, families, and caregivers in the Adult Day Center.
  • Collaboration with the UCC fleet supervisor.
  • Engage with participants and have anactive role in the participation and coordination of activities.
  • Provide active support to Program Assistants to manage difficult participant's behaviors and/or with care on as needed basis.
  • Complete home visits to participants to complete functional assessments and/or do any follow ups related to attendance and services on as needed basis.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

To be qualified for this position an individual must meet the following standards and be able to perform the essential functions of the job:
  • High School Diploma with 2-3 years of experience working with adults with physical and developmental/intellectual disabilities and theelderly population; including adults with dementia or Alzheimer's and/or running programs. Bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, or related field preferred.
  • Experience implementing programs and supervising staff.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Have the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Access to reliable transportation and auto insurance coverage.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work requires to be performed in a variety of settings with varying levels of cleanliness, noise, sitting, standing, walking, squatting, bending, lifting and carrying over 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, and dragging. Occasional exposure to blood-borne or airborne pathogens. Occasional exposure to combative clients.
