Summary

Kitsap Credit Union is hiring a full-time hourly Loan Servicing Specialist to work out of our East Bremerton location. This position is responsible for the loan servicing activities relative to real estate mortgage loans, Home Equity loans, Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOC), auto, consumer, and credit cards in such a manner as to ensure effective, efficient and regulatory compliant department operations.

Typical Job Duties

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Review and respond to member and third party requests. These could include requests for loan workouts, payoff inquiries, short sales, reconveyances, and subordinations. Present analysis and recommendations to the Loan Servicing Manager. Prepare the necessary documentation to respond to the request
  • Work with attorneys, research fees, negotiations, and manually draft responses
  • Process and document loan adjustments including adjustable rate changes, error corrections, and amortization changes. Process escrow payments and analysis, daily payment files, and fund remittances. Process annual forms and disclosures such as tax reporting documents
  • Work with branch staff to help resolve loan account and other questions
  • Coordination of all file maintenance and retention/retrieval activities for the department including date downs, insurance, legal correspondence, general correspondence, inventory/auditing of the files, and oversight of the files post-payoff, boxing and sending files to storage
  • Assist with the management and liquidation of all OREO properties including: ordering valuations, recommending listing agents, marketing efforts, and listing prices coordinating maintenance with vendors. Prepare budgets, cash flow statements, profit and loss statements, etc. for income producing properties. Review and summarize sale offers received for management review.
  • Complete various systematic and manual reports from multiple data sources daily, monthly, quarterly, and annually
  • Maintain high level confidentiality relative to any information received directly or indirectly at all times
  • Contribute to effective department and credit union operations by performing other special projects and related duties as assigned
  • Assists KCU staff regarding Bankruptcies, Repossessions, Delinquencies, CCCS Programs, Deceased members, legal issues and other tasks and information as needed
  • Process monthly charge-offs for delinquent loans deemed uncollectable by ACS. Offsetting of losses by researching other accounts, transferring funds and calculating the correct balance for charge-offs. Properly researching and reporting to credit reporting agencies and placing restrictions that prohibit future losses
  • Investigate, work cross departmentally, and respond to all claims including but not limited to estate claims, disability, unemployment, life, GAP Insurance, and collateral protection insurance (Damage Claims)
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum one year experience in loan servicing or other experience that provides exposure to loan servicing duties
  • Must be registered with the nationwide mortgage licensing system (NMLS) within 30 days of hire and comply with the safe act regulations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new software systems quickly
  • Current knowledge of lending state and federal regulatory requirements
