SALARY SCHEDULE: MDTC Director Schedule starting at $83,051

FLSA JOB STATUS: EXEMPT

Position Summary:

Mid-Del Tech Center's Workforce Development & Training Center focuses on economic development for the Mid-Del community. The Director of Workforce & Economic Development (WED) provides leadership to the Workforce Development & Training Center as well as the Adult Career Development (ACD) department. The Workforce Development Center conducts customized training for businesses in our community while the ACD department coordinates short-term classes for adults. In addition, the Director will represent MDTC at local chamber meetings, events in the community and career fairs. The position works on a 235-day contract (12 mos). Occasional travel and evening work is required.

Qualification Requirements:Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree with Oklahoma Principal Certification is preferred.3+ years' experience in a supervisor role is required OR 3+ years' experience working as a WED/ACD Coordinator at a CareerTech Technology Center.Strong organizational & communication skills required.Networking & relationship building skills are a prerequisite for success.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:Provide leadership, guidance & support to the WED campus, ACD department and the TANF Coordinator.Seek innovative ways to serve the MDTC community through customized training offerings and open enrollment short-term courses.Network and build relationships with industry clients, Tinker AFB, chambers of commerce, Rose State College and community leaders.Ensure data and reports required by MDTC, ODCTE and other organizations are accurate and submitted on time.Represent MDTC at a variety of meetings, events, conferences and career fairs.Manage the financial budgets and ROI (Return on Investment) for WED and ACD.Collaborate with WED & ACD staff to determine client fees for customized training and facility rentals as well as set tuition for ACD courses.Work closely with the Marketing Department to promote WED & ACD offerings.Promote a culture of creativity, relationship building and teamwork for WED & ACD.Other duties as assigned.

LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR SKILLS:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos.

REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fume or airborne particles. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, extreme cold (including outdoors), extreme heat (including direct sunlight), risk of electrical shock and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment will vary from somewhat loud to extremely loud.

To ensure continuity of services, a different work location may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of school and/or office buildings. An employee's eligibility for a varied work location will be determined by the superintendent of schools. Expectations and guidelines for this change will be distributed by the employee's supervisor, based on his/her role and responsibilities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Employee may occasionally be required to supervise a varying number of employees in the overall direction, coordination, and completion of tasks as assigned.
