Job Overview We invite applications from passionate and seasoned leaders to assume the role of President & CEO. This pivotal position entails providing strategic vision and executive oversight for our organization, ensuring its growth and sustainability. Candidates must be located in the Bay Area, as relocation support is not available. Key Responsibilities Oversee the overall fiscal health of the organization. Collaborate with the Board, Treasurer, and Bookkeeper to prepare and manage the annual budget, including revenue forecasts and expenditure strategies. Present monthly budget updates during Board meetings. Design and implement fundraising initiatives and capital campaigns. Regularly assess and review the financial status of the organization. Manage and supervise staff, encompassing hiring, performance evaluations, compensation administration, and adherence to policies. Mentor the leadership team to drive high performance. Introduce continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational practices and organizational effectiveness by developing and utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs). Cultivate a collaborative and professional work environment that promotes accountability and excellence. Direct daily operations, including program administration, staff coordination, membership engagement, and marketing initiatives. Collaborate with the Chair to prepare agendas and materials for Board and Executive Committee meetings. Set and recommend goals and objectives for Board consideration. Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative at community and business events. Forge and sustain partnerships with other organizations. Assist Chamber officers and lead both annual and long-term planning efforts. Participate in Board committee meetings and support membership and sponsorship sales. Identify and devise revenue-generating programs and events, including the organizations Annual Retreat. Ensure compliance with policies and prioritize member needs to foster community economic development. Maintain transparent communication with the Board and contribute to effective governance. Required Skills Exceptional public speaking and presentation capabilities. Strong networking and communication skills to engage with executives and business leaders. Proficient written communication and customer service capabilities. Excellent time management and event planning skills. Ability to encourage teamwork and collaboration among diverse groups. Strong executive competencies, including planning, organizing, leading, and monitoring. Passionate about collaboration, networking, and community involvement. Proven track record in budget management, performance analysis, and financial forecasting. Experience in cost-benefit assessment and motivation of teams towards achieving Chamber objectives. Flexibility to work varied hours and travel as required. Commitment to personal and professional development and adherence to best business practices. Qualifications 5-10 years of management or executive leadership experience in a business or non-profit context, including oversight of personnel and financial responsibilities. Previous experience in Chamber management is an advantage. Familiarity with political systems at local, regional, and state levels is beneficial. A minimum of 3 years of profit and loss (P&L) accountability is preferred. Education A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered. Graduate or current student of the Western Association of Chamber Executives Academy is advantageous.
