The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Sr Financial Analyst, Capt Expenses on the Information Technology team reporting to the Manager, Tech Finance Capital Projects. This position sits on-site in Miramar, FL. Position Summary: The Senior Analyst role includes forecasting, planning, reporting, and accounting for Capital projects in the Information Technology organization. The position involves performing financial activities including cost planning, cost estimates, financial analyses, cost reduction initiative tracking, monthly detailed accounting entries, and forecasting of specific organization costs. The candidate must have a broad background of industry best practices and performance metrics, as well as financial and accounting acumen. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support Capital Budgeting/Forecasting, annual consolidation, and monthly forecasting of project status against plan. Responsible for working with IT leaders and Project Managers to estimate and develop capital budgets for Information Technology projects. Create and maintain reporting for monthly IT financial dashboard. Perform monthly forecasting and accounting for Capital Projects. Also provides variance analyses to monthly results. Includes preparing monthly journal entries for referenced activity, in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Prepare spend curve analyses and provide financial guidance to project managers regarding accounting classification of expenses; Capital, Deferred Expense and/or Expense. Create and maintain accurate and real time management reports and analysis including quick turn-around of ad-hoc financial analysis in a dynamic environment. Improve financial status/awareness by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management. As needed, develop, and prepare financial models, presenting and analyzing financial data in current status and what-if scenarios. Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. Minimum 5-7 years related work experience. Experience applying finance and accounting principles is essential. Experience with U.S. GAAP adherence required. I.T. Finance or technology-related experience highly preferred. Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley controls and testing. Experience with JD Edwards application & Essbase/Smartview is highly preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal, organization, verbal & written communication skills. Working with team member across all levels within organization. Advanced analytical skill set including critical thinking. Experienced in Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint. Intermediate or above skills in Excel. Must be detail-oriented. Must be able to work under tight timelines, prioritizing assignments as needed. Must work independently with tasks assigned.
