Santa Clara, United States NVIDIA Full time

NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 fueled the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing — with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. This is our life’s work — to amplify human creativity and intelligence. Are you ready to help us change the world? At Nvidia, we are responsible for the manufacturing design, validation, and implementation, ensuring safe product delivery to customers for both retail and datacenter packaging. This position is a summer internship for packaging development, representing the Operations team. It collaborates with product marketing, industrial design, engineering and suppliers to lead packaging mechanical structure design and manufacturing maturity development. The position is located at the corporate HQ in Santa Clara, California with the expectation of being in the office a minimum of 3 days per week What you will be doing:

As an intern working with our Packaging Development Engineers, you will be exposed to various aspects of product development. Your responsibilities will include: Learning alongside experienced engineers during the product design phase.

Analyzing packaging materials and evaluating NVIDIA products for reliability and performance.

Collaborating with Packaging Development Engineers to address design, testing, and production issues.

Gaining hands-on experience and understanding in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), tooling design, manufacturing processes, and production schedules for a range of materials, including paper, molded fiber, corrugated, rigid boxes, crates, cases, foam, plastic trays, and more.

Coordinating the release of New Product Introduction BOMs into our Product Data Management (PDM) system.

What we need to see:

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have the following qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Engineering or a related field.

Basic design skills, such as basic 2D Artios CAD and 3D SolidWorks.

Knowledge of product fragility and hands-on experience with package testing.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

A strong can-do mentality and a willingness to learn quickly, even outside of your comfort zone.

Previous experience with consumer electronics products, whether through school projects or personal initiatives.

A sense of ownership and a passion for craftsmanship.

Desire to gain practical experience in packaging development.
