Responsibilities
•System Architecture: Evaluate product design requirements to determine the power electronics system architecture.
•Preliminary Design: Engage in all phases of preliminary design and systems architecture, analyzing the cost implications of proposed changes, upgrades, and new implementations.
•Development Techniques: Identify the most effective techniques, procedures, and theories for developing power electronics products and systems.
•Converter Design: Design various power converters utilizing advanced solid-state switching devices.
•Documentation: Prepare and coordinate the release of documentation to support product design, verification, and manufacturing.
•Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams on specific projects.
•Technical Lead: Serve as the technical lead for troubleshooting field and factory issues related to the client's power electronics products.
•Design and Development: Design, develop, and test power electronic systems, including converters, inverters, and power supplies.
•Circuit Design: Create and optimize circuit designs for power electronic components and systems, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
•Simulation and Modeling: Perform simulations and create models to predict performance and identify potential issues in power electronics designs.
•Prototype Development: Build and test prototypes of power electronic systems to validate design concepts and performance.
•Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing and analysis to ensure systems meet required specifications and standards.
•Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues in power electronic systems and components, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
•Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in power electronics and continuously seek ways to improve designs and processes.
Qualifications
•Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in power electronics.
•Experience: Minimum of 12 years of practical industry experience.
•Power Converters: Extensive experience with various power converters, including DC/DC converters, inverters, and rectifiers.
•3-Phase Systems: Experience with 3-phase power electronics systems is highly desirable.
•Switching Devices: Direct experience with designs using IGBT/MOSFET/SiC/GaN, gate driver design, selection, and characterization.
•Schematics and Layouts: Strong proficiency in creating complex schematics and PCBA layouts.
•Controls Development: Solid experience in power electronics controls development.
•Development Tools: Proficiency with tools such as Altium, Matlab/Simulink, and other relevant power electronics development tools.
•DSP and FPGA: Experience with DSP and FPGA.
