Accounts Coordinator

Reports to Sales Manager

Job Description

To provide an excellent customer experience by recommending and selling stock inventory to current and new customers and providing exceptional customer service on all sales. This position will also qualify and forward non-stock sales opportunities to experienced sales team members.

Essential Functions
  • Answer and respond to all incoming customer calls and e-mails in a timely manner.
  • Utilize the stock yes pricing.
  • Verify, audit and maintain sell prices and margins for all items sold to assigned customers.
  • Complete customer quotes for all stock yes opportunities in ERP system.
  • Work with the Warehouse and/or Traffic Department to obtain freight rates.
  • Enter new and maintain existing customer sales orders for stock yes inventory.
  • Coordinate customer information with Accounting - i.e., credit applications, credit card information and tax-exempt details.
  • Qualify opportunities for all non-stock items.
  • Enter new customers, ship-to and pick ticket notes for Traffic.
  • Confirm, follow-up and expedite existing customer orders when necessary.
  • Enter purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Process customer credits, which may include contacting customer for short payments or other discrepancies.
  • Forward customer complaint information to the Quality Department for action.
  • Process carrier freight bills included in sell price or billing to customer.
  • Maintain Customer Open Order Report.
  • Travel for company meetings and training may be required.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Work with targeted vendors as selected by KCC Sales Manager to develop new customers.
  • Develop new business within existing account base annually
  • Develop and monitor Just-In-Time inventory programs within customer base. Place emphasis on adhering to the signed JIT program contract with billing customer property and storage according to the terms of the agreement.
  • Maintain and service new accounts transferred to you temporarily or permanently and work to grow sales and gross profit.
  • Ensure all business developed is at a margin that is in line with Kaufman Container goals for profitability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • College Graduate - Associate's or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Desire to learn and grow into a sales position
  • Sales or customer service experience, preferred
  • Positive attitude
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of computer systems
  • Able to multi-task in a high-speed environment
