Position Summary:
The Marketing Event Specialist oversees many aspects of marketing events including: planning and executing regional tradeshows, associated networking/after-hour events, speaking engagements, management of collateral and event materials, assist with internal MCG events where needed and assist with timely budget reconciliation. The Marketing Event Specialist will own the end-to-end management of at least half a third of the regional tradeshows.
Key Working Relationships:
The Marketing Event Specialist will work with many diverse stakeholders both internal and external. Such people may include MCG staff, clients, and vendors.
Essential Functions and Key Position Accountabilities:
Execute innovative in-person and virtual events, as assigned by manager, that promote the organization, build and enhance our brand, generate leads, and develop relationships
Manage sub-set of end-to-end logistics for regional and third-party events, inclusive of registration process, food and beverage, venue research, registration support, entertainment, conference booth production, transportation, etc
Internal and external tradeshow communication for sub-set of events
Maintains project management database to support the management, execution and reporting of projects status
Ensure lead and show feedback follow-up activities and reporting are accurate and complete
Assist with planning and execution of large events as needed/able
Assist with internal MCG events as needed
Assists with onsite support as needed by supervising booth set-up, organizing staff and handling any onsite issues that arise.
Coordinate show contracts
Other tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Required:
4 year degree (marketing, communications or business preferred) /or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years experience in marketing
Experience managing corporate events, tradeshow event experience strongly preferred
Healthcare and high-tech experience preferred
Ability to travel 10-20% of the time
Other Qualifications:
Proven success in working on and managing event logistics
Must have strong project management skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Understanding of the requirements and expectations of internal and external customers and a desire to provide outstanding customer service consistently
Ability to work and achieve results

with minimal supervision

in an intense, fast-paced, virtual team environment
Internally driven self-starter
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (required)
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (preferred)
Experience using Salesforce.com (preferred)
