Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas Acts as liaison for the Agency or Department by communicating effectively with assigned organizations or programs Review financial reports of the agency and subrecipients to evaluate reporting meets appropriate standards Examines financial and other documents for compliance with accepted accounting methods, policies, procedures, and laws Inspects account books and accounting or financial computer systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions May develop or maintain departmental audit policies or procedures, or review the work of outside auditors to ensure quality control May supervise lower level and/or support staff Prepares, analyzes, and verifies annual reports, financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate monitoring planning Research data, prepares/submits final monitoring reports, issues financial settlements, responds to and resolves related issues Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional job-related experience; OR Five (5) years of professional job-related experience; OR One (1) year of experience at the lower level Auditor/Examiner 2 (FIP031) or equivalent position. Additional Information: The Georgia Department of Public Health commissioner and leaders encourage all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being. The use of wellness breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and assist employees in meeting their wellness goals. A maximum of 30 minutes in a given workday may be used to engage in wellness activities, generally in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break. Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary. DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE).
