Construction Project Scheduler

Overview:
Our business is real estate, but our organization is so much more than bricks and mortar, beautiful buildings and well-managed properties. Our business is about people who need a place to call home and the people of Michaels who make it all happen.

 

The Project Scheduler will lead the planning and scheduling efforts on multiple complex multi-family projects. They will interact with various stakeholders to create and update schedules for assigned projects. They will provide schedule creation and update through schedule program such as MS Project or P6. They will load resources into the program to assist in the management of the same & provide weekly updates on all tracked projects.

Responsibilities:
 

Create logical schedule that includes resources required to accomplish the task.

Keep schedule updated on a weekly basis & monitor multiple project schedules at once.

Provide feedback and updates to field staff and upper management as to activities status.

Be part of the team to address how schedule may be adjusted or how and what could be done to place projects back on schedule.

Analyze drawings and specifications in the preparation of baseline schedules for construction

Provide monthly variance reporting for all projects under construction.

Utilize analytics to identify and report on project trends

Effectively cost and manpower load schedules for use during execution of the project(s).

Develop a curriculum and Train the Project Management team in P6 and critical path scheduling.

Travel to project sites if applicable

Responsible for special projects as necessary

Qualifications:
Required Experience: 

Must have 3-5 years’ of scheduling experience with multi-family construction projects

Construction field experience desired.
Project management experience desired.

 

Required Education/Training: 
BS Degree in Construction Management or field related degree desired.

 

Required Skills and Abilities: 

Must be able to read and understand blue prints

An understanding of the construction process and how scheduled tasks interact with one another

Experience in the Multi-Family Construction industry.

The ability to conduct training & education in both team and 1 on 1 settings.

Immediate proficiency in Primavera (P6) and MS Project software as well as MS Office

Detail-oriented & high degree of initiative with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Effective at building rapport with various stakeholders within Michaels Construction

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and must be able to define and interpret relations between task, source documents and deadlines.

 

Working Conditions: 

Must be able to traverse an active construction site. Must be able to work in group and individual settings. Ability to perform overnight travel as required to active construction sites. Usually working in an office environment but must able to work in a construction trailer setting as well, including exposure to noise, dust, fumes and various weather conditions.
