An opportunity exists for an experienced, proven Finance Analyst to join the team at the Charles City, Iowa site. The site employs more than 500 colleagues supplying many of Zoetis’ largest and most innovative products to livestock and companion animal customers around the globe. This is a new role at the site supporting the Finance Lead in a broad range of areas including annual operating plan, forecasting and month-end close and will require collaboration across the site to understand financial performance and interpret results. This is an excellent position for someone looking to move into a fast-paced manufacturing environment experiencing significant growth and investment. 5 years minimum experience in standard cost accounting preferred. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Will support financial planning, analysis and control including the annual budget process, product costing, quarterly forecasting activity and monthly reporting of actual results, ensuring the timeliness and integrity of financial data. 50% Provide financial support and counsel to site finance leader and site leadership, assist in driving financial performance at the site and participate in a continuous improvement culture across the organization. 20% Monitor financial activities for the site; a key partner in identifying and detailing financial specifics and helping others to understand them. 10% Other duties as assigned including ad-hoc reporting, supporting information requests, and maintaining historical internal reporting. 10% Maintain compliance with US GAAP and Zoetis accounting policies and procedures. Co-ordinate internal and external audit activity. Promote a strong financial controls environment including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls. 5% Prepared to serve as the Acting Site Finance Lead when the lead is unavailable to the site. 5% ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Key member of site partnering across all site functions providing financial support. Interacts with site finance lead and central finance functions on a regular basis. Presents monthly results, forecasts and budgets to the broader Biologics Platform leadership team. RESOURCES MANAGED Support financial operations of a site with an annual site budget in the 100’s of millions. Supervision This position will be an individual contributor. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required 5 years minimum of manufacturing/cost accounting experience. Masters and/or CMA/CPA a plus. Experience and knowledge of U.S. GAAP and other statutory requirements including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Experience working in a manufacturing site as part of a management team. Ability to influence and provide direction to achieve a high level of financial performance and compliance. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate at various levels across the Company. Strategic and analytical thinker with a successful track record of managing complex problems. Detail oriented, responsive, and proactive. Fosters clarity, transparency, consistency, and widespread understanding across the business. Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy. Work effectively in a team environment and in building collaborative relationships with peers and with other stakeholders. Aligned with Zoetis vision, mission and core beliefs. Strong understanding of cost accounting principles. Previous experience in working in complex environments and driving change and continuous improvement while managing competing priorities.
