Responsibilities

The Senior Analyst – Decision Support & Finance is involved in conducting cost-benefit analyses for potential decisions, evaluating the financial impact of new healthcare initiatives, and participating in financial audits to ensure compliance accuracy. a crucial part in driving data-driven decision-making across our health system; this role's exceptional analytical skills combined with specialized financial and operational knowledge provides detailed data and data analysis to administrators for critical decision making and is instrumental in shaping the organization’s success to support financial responsibility across the organization; develops skills of department leadership to promote adherence to financial goals and addressing unique financial challenges; conducts detailed cost analyses of healthcare services and procedures to determine their actual expenses, this includes identifying direct and indirect costs, allocating overheads, and assessing cost drivers; collaborates with finance teams and heads to develop accurate budgets for healthcare services; involved in forecasting future costs and financial performance based on historical data and expected changes; monitors and analyzes deviations between budgeted and actual costs, identifying the reasons variances and providing insights to management for actions; prepares and presents financial reports, summaries, and performance metrics to key within the healthcare system; these reports are essential for decision-making and strategic to optimize financial performance; collaborate with various stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide decision support insights to aid strategic planning and operational improvements; analyzes and interprets complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process optimization and cost efficiencies; prepare comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders, including senior leadership; ensures data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across databases and reporting systems; develops and maintains standardized reporting templates and financial models for departmental use; monitor and track key performance indicators (KPls) to assess departmental and performance, generating timely and accurate reports; identify opportunities to financial and support processes, contributing to increased efficiency and effectiveness in data analysis and financial management; collaborate with IT teams to enhance data collection, integration, and capabilities; serve as the go-to financial expert for specific departments within the Health System, understanding their unique financial challenges and goals; work closely with department managers to develop and maintain departmental budgets, financial forecasts, and performance metrics; conduct financial analyses, variance analysis, and identify areas for financial improvement or cost containment; provide ongoing financial training, support, and guidance to managers to enhance their financial acumen and decision-making abilities; stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in data analytics and financial management; continuously expand expertise in healthcare operations and financial reporting standards; other duties as defined including project management, especially in the realm of data integration and StrataJazz optimization projects, and facility expansion at the system level; proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools such as Strata, Excel, SQL, or other data analytics software; excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders; strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to identify process improvements and operational efficiencies; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment; responsible for managing training and application of financial tools: management reporting, productivity reporting, and operating budgeting for all managers in the Health System as department expands with growth, supervision of one or more Decision Support Analysts; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business admin, health informatics, or a related field and three years of progressively responsible accounting, financial analysis or project management or related experience. Experience in data analysis, decision support, and financial analysis in a healthcare setting preferred. Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
