Scope:

Administer day-to-day processes in support of a broad range of group benefit programs (Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life Insurance, FSA, HSA, Retirement Plans, and Tuition Assistance). Administer leave requests requiring specialized attention, particularly those under PFML, FMLA, and company short-and-long term disability plans. Provide excellent customer service to employees for all benefit programs. Provide analytical and technical support in the delivery of benefit programs and processes.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

* 2 - 3 years related benefits experience

Competencies and Skills:

* A thorough understanding of Employee Benefit Plans, applicable laws and regulations is required.

* Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle a broad range of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

* Able to maintain focus on data accuracy and detail orientation.

* Demonstrated benefits experience.

* Ability to multitask, work in a team environment and bring creativity to the role.

* Able to at all times maintain the utmost vigilance in the protection of confidential data and sensitive information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Support administration of employee benefits programs including Medical, Dental, Vision, Short-and-Long Term Disability, FSA, HSA, Life Insurance, and Tuition Assistance.

* Administer company leave programs and Paid Family Medical Leave (MA & CT) while working closely with leave vendor, state agencies, and internal payroll department.

* Administer other benefit programs as requested.

* Assist employees and managers on the connection between company leave programs and PFML, as applicable.

* Assist employees with questions about benefit enrollment and changes, disability claims, death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, and loans.

* Assist with compliance and audit testing and support.

* Contact for new hires and support of new hire orientation for benefits programs.

* Maintain accurate data in HRIS, coordinating benefit setup, deduction and compliance reporting, generating system reports, and implementing necessary system changes.

* Ensure compliance with FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA and other state and federal regulations.

* Work with third party administrators to input data electronically.

* Ensure that FMLA notifications and tracking are maintained according to requirements.

* Assist employees and managers relating to FMLA, USERRA and company leave policies, and the impact of leaves on benefits.

* Assist employees with transaction processing and forms completion.

* Work with external benefit vendors to ensure employee problems are resolved.

* Stay current with legal developments and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars, web workshops; reviewing professional publications.

* Process routine requests and maintaining files from state agencies; assisting in government compliance assurance.

* Edit communications regarding programs, design changes, annual enrollment.

* Review and interpret plan documents including service agreements, SPDs, SMMs, and SBCs.

Physical Demands:

* Works in an office environment.

* Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.

* Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:

* Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.

* The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:

* Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor

* The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
