Role Summary:

The Learning & Development Specialist, reporting to the Talent Development & Enablement Manager, is a key support role within the Human Resources team. This role assists with the coordination of workforce planning initiatives, early career programs, and Learning Management System (LMS) administration. The Learning & Development Specialist helps develop creative and engaging training materials, schedules and tracks learning programs, and provides logistical support to ensure smooth delivery of training sessions. Additionally, the role maintains accurate training records and assists in evaluating the effectiveness of programs to continuously improve learning experiences.

Exciting work you will do:

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Learning & Development Specialist will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Coordinate the internship and early career programs, including program content development, coordinating orientation sessions, managing the program lifecycle, recruiting participants, and providing ongoing support and evaluation to ensure a valuable experience for emerging talent
  • Assist in the development and execution of workforce planning initiatives, including competency frameworks, career pathways, and individual development programs
  • Coordinate and maintain the company's LMS, including course uploads, user management, and reporting. Ensure that all training records are up-to-date and accurately maintained
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of training programs, such as e-learning modules, workshops, and webinars, using basic instructional design methods; collaborate with the team to develop learning materials like storyboards and scripts
  • Assist in delivering training sessions through in-person, virtual and blended methods; help facilitate interactive and engaging learning experiences for employees.
  • Utilize data and analytics to assess learning effectiveness, identify trends, and recommend strategies for enhancing learning outcomes
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment
  • Provide logistical support for training programs, including preparing materials, setting up and dismantling training rooms, setting up audio-visual equipment, managing registration and attendance tracking, and preparing and distributing pre- and post-training communications

What you'll need:
  • Work Experience: 2 years' of experience in learning and development, instructional design, or a related field; An understanding of how to design learning programs focused on building specific competencies and supporting career progression. Familiarity with learning methodologies (ADDIE, Kirkpatrick) and experience with e-learning platforms. 1 year demonstrated experience producing visually engaging and innovative learning materials that enhance the learning experience, using tools such as graphic design software (e.g. Canva, ADOBE) or multimedia platforms.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, English, liberal arts, marketing, public relations, journalism, or other relevant degree
  • Analytics/Computer Skills: 2 years' experience working with MS OfficeIntermediate to Advanced PowerPoint and Excel; 1-year previous experience with a learning management system (LMS) or learning design tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate); Strong analysis, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Organization Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed; ability to work in fast-paced, continuously evolving, and at times ambiguous environment
  • Cross-functional skills: Ability to work well cross-functionally; provides excellent internal and external customer service
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communication well with all levels of the organization; excellent presentation skills to influence all levels of the organization effectively, strong interpersonal and customer service skills; high degree of discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information; and ability to influence stakeholders on strategy and execution using data and anecdotes

Qualifications we prefer but don't require:
  • Experience: Proven experience in creating and implementing career path programs, particularly within a corporate setting, ensuring alignment with organizational goals; previous experience managing projects
  • Analytics/Computer Skills: Previous experience with 360-degree feedback assessments, competency gap analysis, or talent management software; the ability to analyze training effectiveness and development needs using data analytics
  • Certifications: Certifications such as SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR, APTD or CPTD (Associate Professional in Talent Development or Certified Professional in Talent Development)
