SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to administer and perform human resource functions in accordance with current acceptable employment laws as directed by the Executive Director of assigned facility & the RHRD. Implements company policies, processes and procedures and ensures quality records and confidentiality of information.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Coordinates and administers the new hire processes, including hiring through ATS, conducting background screenings, AHCA clearance, fingerprinting and collection of I-9 documents. In addition, reviews current policies/procedures and obtains necessary signatures as needed.
•Coordinates completion of TB testing (or xray) and communicable disease statements to meet state requirements for onboarding new hires.
•Enters new employee information in AHCA employee roster as required.
•Coordinates completion of new hire in-service trainings with new employees through the Learning System to meet state requirements.
•Runs reports regularly for communities for tracking and compliance reporting for in-services (CPR, First Aid, Platinum service...), licenses, TB's (annual and new hire), fingerprints, employment authorization expirations, new hires, terminations, LOA's etc..)
•Conducts employee orientation for all new employees reviewing policies, procedures and employee benefits.
•Reviews and administers all employee leave of absence requests in accordance with Federal, State and Company policies. Ensures required paperwork and communication is completed in a timely manner. Monitors leaves and maintains leave of absence tracking and insurance benefits. Escalates to RHRD as necessary.
•Processes unemployment claims and responds to further requests of information needed. Coordinates appeals process as needed.
•Works with department heads in posting requisitions for job openings and attends weekly/biweekly recruitment calls as needed.
•Assists with the information gathering from employee file for the timely completion of responses by Legal Counsel for legal matters such as state and federal charges, discovery requests, etc..
•Provides employee records and information as requested during state audits.
•Assists managers and department heads with setting up administrator access to Learning System, and coordinates set up and course assignments as needed for new hires and Community transfers.
•Provides guidance and counsel to employees and management regarding work questions, policies and procedures.
•Ensures employee records are maintained in compliance with all state and federal laws.
•Maintains employee confidentiality and protects operations by keeping human resource information/HIPPA confidential.
•Special projects as assigned.
•Assist with other projects and duties as needed or assigned by the Executive Director &/or Regional Director of Human Resources
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
•Must possess, as a minimum, a High School Diploma or GED
•Minimum of 1 year experience in human resources
•Familiarity with Fair Labor Standards Act, OSHA, FMLA, EEO, and other related legislation
•Basic to intermediate MS Office skills
•Strong, clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
•High level of integrity, trust and composure and is seen as approachable by all levels of the organization
•Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
•Strong detail orientation, organizational and problem-solving capability
•Basic project management skills, with a focus on tracking progress and follow up
•Ability to multi-task in a quickly changing environment
•Ability to accurately interpret directions and instructions
•Strong work ethic and a commitment to the highest professional and ethical standards
