The Patient Care Coordinator greets and registers patients in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner, as well as instructs, directs, and schedules patients and visitors. The receptionist receives cash payments from patients, issues receipts and posts cash payment data. Schedule: Monday through Friday a 40-hour work week, an 8-hour shift between the hours of 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. The schedule will be determined by the supervisor upon hire. May be asked to float to other clinics as needed. Location: 14100 East Arapahoe, Centennial CO. 80112 Primary Responsibilities: Greets patients as they arrive and manages wait time. Completes check-in and check-out tasks to include insurance verification, complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures, and copy required documents. Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts. Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies. Processes walk-in patients and visitors. Answers phones and schedules appointments. Answers telephone calls, re-directs calls as appropriate, assists callers with questions or concerns, and takes messages as needed. Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule). Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED (or higher). 1+ years of customer service experience with strong communication both in person and via phone. Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to travel 10% of the time for coverage at other clinics if needed. Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience with electronic health records. 1+ years of related healthcare experience, including scheduling experience. 1+ years of experience handling and triaging of telephone calls and a multi-system phone line. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to handle cash and to count money at high volumes including mathematical computations. Soft Skills: Ability to work independently and as a team, and maintain good judgment and accountability. Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others. Colorado Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $16.54 to $32.55 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
