Summary:

This is a unique opportunity to grow a social community for an iconic cat brand. We are seeking a Social Media Manager to play a pivotal role in crafting and executing entertaining, social-first marketing and content that people want to talk about and share.

As a core member of our Brand Marketing team, the Social Media Manager will work closely with Influencers, Creators, Creative and Customer Experience teams, to drive planning, content, copy and community management across all organic social media channels (including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn).

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly creative, lives on the For You Page and loves cats

What You'll Do:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

  • Leads the creation and execution of entertaining social-first content that starts meaningful conversations, attracts new followers, builds brand awareness and drives traffic to Whisker.com.
  • Owns the social media calendar, navigating between weekly calendar creation and social media campaigns that support broader marketing initiatives.
  • Partners and briefs in all content needs with our in-house creative team, creators and freelancers on a monthly and as-needed basis to create content inclusive of graphics, videos and GIFs.
  • Appears on camera, in several of our videos.
  • Drives and evolves our organic social media strategy across all channels, while incorporating emerging trends, platform evolution and consumer behavior.
  • Is the champion of our brand ensuring bios, feeds and the overall social profile best represents our brand.
  • Monitors all social media platforms, responding and engaging with mentions and DMs and proactively commenting on other relevant conversations to capture attention and drive engagement.
  • Sets and analyzes key performance indicators for community health and social campaigns and identifies learnings and optimizations to improve performance.
  • Develops monthly reports measuring performance against targets, including follower growth and engagement, while tracking progress back to yearly goals.
  • Partners with performance marketing to align plans for organic and paid social and presents a cohesive brand on all channels.
  • Identifies opportunities for experimenting in social to drive growth and engagement across all channels
  • Will perform other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring:
  • BA in Marketing or similar field and/or comparable experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of social media experience at a major brand or with a creator account
  • Deep understanding of social algorithm, trends, and best practices for optimizing content performance, specifically on Instagram and TikTok
  • Strong storytelling skills and creativity with the ability to develop visually appealing and engaging content
  • Proven track record of creating high-performing social media content and campaigns
  • Proficient with social management tools. Experience with Sprout is a plus.
  • Experience working with influencers or creators
  • Comfortable speaking to camera.
  • Passion for social media and mastery of major social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube)
  • General photo and video editing capabilities - you're intimately familiar with in-app creator tools across social platforms and know your way around editing softwares like Adobe Premiere
  • Excellent social listening, communication, and writing skills
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • High degree of initiative, self-motivation and ability to motivate and partner with others
  • Previous, current or future cat owner
  • Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs)
