Position Description:
The Senior Service coordination will ensure resident and community success through close work with TCB property management teams and local community partners. The SCLSC supervises congregate care staff and graduate level students and works one-on-one with residents to assist them in achieving housing stability and improved outcomes in health and wellness, economic mobility, and educational advancement. The SCLSC is an integral part of the housing and property team and plays a critical role in the overall positive culture of the property for the enjoyment of its residents and the respect of its neighbors.
Housing stabilization is the primary area of focus that will be delivered through referrals to quality, local partners, on-site programing and individual coaching. The goal is to have families stable in their housing and to connect them to local opportunities in the areas of education, workforce development, financial education, asset building and health. In addition, community engagement and community building activities will be essential in order to create a sense of community and initiate a gateway to other support services. Services provided should be intentional, meaningful, and align with the community success plan.

SCLSC is responsible for maintaining a working relationship with the property management team by coordinating monthly Property Management/Community Life meetings, informing property management of programs, stakeholders, partnerships etc. Via formal meetings, newsletters, calendar invites etc.

Description of Properties:
Morris. H. Blum (Annapolis, MD)
Glenwood High-rise was constructed in 1976 and consists of 154 units originally constructed to serve elderly and disabled residents. HACA has partnered with The Community Builders to substantially rehabilitate all 154 homes in the Morris H. Blum Apartments (formerly Glenwood High-rise).
The units include (and will remain after rehabilitation):
* 92 - Efficiencies; 1 of which is 504 Accessible units
* 56 - One (1) Bedrooms; 2 of which are 504 Accessible units
* 6 - Two (2) Bedrooms

Park Morton (Washington, DC)
Leveraging its track record of developing and preserving complex affordable housing communities, Dantes Partners, in partnership with The Community Builders, was selected to redevelop the Park Morton public housing complex in the Park View neighborhood of Washington, DC - a targeted site of the District's New Communities Initiative. The 456-unit redevelopment will be completed in multiple phases creating a mixed-income community consisting of public housing, affordable and market-rate units; and features 1-for-1 replacement of the existing public housing units. Park Morton Proper will serve as the first and second phase of the redevelopment. Phases 1 and 2 will be developed on the site of the current Park Morton Public Housing development and will include 142 multifamily units and 47 townhouse-style units, 40 of which will be public housing replacement units. Phase 3 will include 273 units, 90 of which will be public housing replacement units.

Under direct supervision of the Director of Community Life, the Senior Community Life Service Coordinator will:
* Develop and implement the Community Success Plan (CSP), an annual work plan outlining strategies and activities that fir into CL Strategic Goals Coordinate activities: assess and report on progress regularly.
* Supervise congregate care staff, interns and volunteers, ensuring accountability of site team for carrying out the programs and activities included in the site's CSP.
* Coordinate the implementation of the TCB Housing Stabilization Standard of Practice, which includes communicating with PM re. work orders issues, rent, etc.
* Oversee the collection of the annual Community Life Questionnaire CLQ).
* Coordinate activities to ensure Seniors are able to age in place with dignity and families move toward economic mobility.
* Develop strategic partnerships with local service providers to bring on-site programs to the Morris H. Blum and Park Morton residents as well as provide referrals to off-site programs and services in the following CL outcome areas: youth mentoring and job programs, afterschool, early education, career pathway, financial, and housing stabilization, activities of daily living, senior isolation etc.
* Attend local meetings with community stakeholders, and other local organization that are focusing on community engagement, youth development and safety and security within the community
* Conduct welcome orientations for new residents
* Oversee and coordinate resident engagement work using CL methods to connect and empower residents.
* Manage administrative tasks required for securing and executing contracts or Memorandum of Agreements with providers and partners to carry out on-site programming
* Attend trainings around trauma informed care, youth mentorship, youth development, budgeting, restorative justice, gang violence, mental health first aide, youth diversion programs, motivational interviewing,
* Keep property management team and Community Life Director appraised of issues affecting residents
* Document and maintain accurate and up to date records in CL Connect weekly
* Knowledge of entitlement programs is a plus
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested

Here's what we're looking for

* Knowledge and experience with Congregate Care program
o Provide direct supervision to two Congregate Care workers providing services to eligible residents at least 62 years of age and in need of assistance in one or more activities of daily living
o Ensure participants receive meals weekly housekeeping of each participant's apartment, and limited personal assistance with activities such as bathing, dressing, and laundry

o Recruit and supervise graduate students
o Build and maintain effective partnerships and work with community-based organizations, social service providers and other organizations
o Demonstrate experience supervising others, and interest in motivating and energizing staff
o Demonstrate experience and expertise in using data and evaluations to inform practice
o Experience engaging, communicating and collaborating with residents of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds
o Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), and problem-solving skills
o Strong personal initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
o Flexibility to work evening and weekends occasionally

Education & Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree required with a focus on social work, psychology, or human services. 2+ year of related experience, with prior experience supervising staff
