Department Overview: The N241 "DoDIN Enterprise Foundations" Department is seeking a seasoned communications engineer to enhance MITRE's contributions to a critical government project. The selected candidate will collaborate with sponsors to design, assess, test, and evaluate communication systems that serve senior national leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver long-term advisory support for the development, deployment, maintenance, and operational use of classified NLCC services and infrastructure.
  • Provide guidance to government leadership on business and financial support initiatives, while closely coordinating with technical, operational, and security teams.
  • Assist in managing a portfolio of both legacy and new communications/IT systems and services, including participation in technical and operational evaluations.
  • Engage with mission stakeholders to assess requirements, identify gaps, and propose immediate solutions or long-term strategies for addressing operational challenges.
  • Contribute to the formulation of informed policies and guidelines.
  • Lead or participate in root-cause analyses of communication failures affecting classified mission areas, including follow-up actions to prevent future occurrences.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience in DoD and National Senior Leader Communications, or equivalent experience with a Master’s degree (8 years) or a PhD (5 years).
  • Strong ability to communicate and interact effectively with government leadership and classified mission partners.
  • Proficient written communication skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork and the capability to identify, prioritize, and resolve complex issues.
  • Possession of an active TS/SCI clearance.
  • This role requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DoD Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), Defense Acquisitions System (DAS), and Planning, Programming, Budgeting & Execution Process (PPBE).
  • Basic understanding of portfolio management, classified DoD entities, communications and IT infrastructure, and the integration of operations and logistics across DoD entities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with customers, project leaders, team members, and other government agencies.
