Warehouse Associate: Sioux Center, IA Hours: Monday - Friday (7AM to 5PM) Job Description: The Counter Sales specialist will increase sales and customer satisfaction by efficiently and courteously assisting walk-in and telephone customers in the selection and acquisition of needed products. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Service customers at the counter by taking orders and entering them into the system accurately. Use electronic and published catalogs to provide product, pricing and availability information to customers. Follow company pricing and credit guidelines. Solve or find someone to quickly solve customers' problems. Retrieve orders from warehouse quickly and accurately. Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sales items as well as new products. Promote and sell overages, damaged and discontinued items. Handle customer complaints and returns, while showing a positive attitude. Keep merchandising and counter areas clean and attractive. Keep counter area inventory stocked; remove or add inventory items to stimulate impulse sales; remove discontinued items from the sales floor. Assist in after-hours scheduled physical inventory counts. Participate in company-sponsored sales promotions. Work with other departments to resolve customer service issues in a timely manner. Light warehouse duties as assigned. Accurately use order entry, computerized systems and other technologies as required. Attend product training meetings. Follow company policies and procedures. Review and understand company ethics policies. Practice honesty and integrity in customer and vendor relations. Understand terms and conditions of sales and the extent of liability and responsibility. Communicate and interact professionally with other employees. Communicate company's commitment to continuous improvement process. Use personal computer and other common office equipment. Present a professional image. Promote teamwork and cooperative effort. Able to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tact. Team player who works productively with wide range of people. Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures. Understands basic inventory, warehousing and stocking procedures. Comfortable in fast-paced environment. Effective listening and good phone skills. Practice positive customer relations, superior customer service, and constructive problem solving. Continuously upgrade skills and knowledge to improve personal effectiveness and provide training and guidance to less experienced/skilled personnel. Maintain a safe and unobstructed work area, follow all safety guidelines and utilize appropriate safety equipment and practices. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Education: High school diploma/GED required. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years in similar position and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Minimum 1-2 years in progressive position. Pass a drug screen and background check. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Frequently required to stand/walk. Frequently required to sit. Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity. Continually required to talk or hear. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather). Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
