They are responsible for accurately recording, tracking, and reporting on fixed assets and capital project expenditures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities: Fixed Asset Management Maintain a comprehensive register of fixed assets, including acquisition details, depreciation, disposals, and impairments using NetSuite Fixed Asset Module. Help implement an asset tagging and tracking process. Perform periodic physical inventories of fixed assets and reconcile them with the accounting records. Monitor the useful life of assets and assess impairment when necessary. Capital Project Accounting Assist in the capitalization of capital project costs in accordance with relevant accounting standards. Collaborate with project managers to develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial objectives. Track and analyze project costs, including labor, materials, and overhead, against budgeted amounts. Prepare and review project financial reports, providing insights into cost variances and recommending corrective actions as needed. Financial Reporting Prepare fixed asset and project-related schedules and disclosures for internal and external reporting purposes. Support the annual audit process by providing documentation and explanations related to fixed assets and capital project expenditures. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards governing fixed asset accounting and project cost capitalization. Experience/Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5 years of progressive experience in fixed asset and capital project accounting. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of tax regulations related to fixed assets is a plus, but not required.
