Corporate Accountant, Laramie, WY
Trihydro, one of the top environmental and engineering consulting firms in the country, has an opening for a Corporate Accountant in our Financial Operations and Oversight Group. The Corporate Accountant will join our Accounting and Finance Team and play an integral role in the daily financial operations and oversight of our 500+ employee firm. As a member of our team, you will support our diverse range of clients, from Fortune 100 companies to the federal government, to local communities nationwide to continuously improve human health and the environment.
As Corporate Accountant, you will assist with internal controls and lead the coordination of our annual financial and 401K audits. Other tasks include issuing monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports and monitoring treasury activities. You will prepare our federal, state and local tax reports and coordinate payment.
As a team member of the Financial Operations and Oversight Group, you will help ensure GAAP and other regulatory compliance across all accounting functions. Other responsibilities include reviewing G/L activity, monthly journal entries and managing fiscal month/quarter/year end closings. You will work closely with both the payables and revenue teams to ensure proper accounting transactions are recorded timely and accurately and review and improve system processes to increase efficiency.
The location of this position is in Laramie, WY, which is home to Trihydro's Corporate Headquarters. Laramie is a great community that provides ready access to multiple recreational activities and other opportunities associated with state colleges, and mountain west living.
Our team is looking for someone who:

  • Has acceptable written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate financial analysis and insights with our senior leadership team
  • Is self-motivated and driven to help create solutions to unique challenges/problems while maintaining internal controls and compliance
  • Has prior experience in an accounting related field
  • Preferred candidate will have a CPA or CMA or is working to obtain their CPA or CMA.
  • Can interpret and apply state and federal tax regulatory guidance to meet filing requirements
  • Has prior experience with financial audits
This position requires the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Thorough understanding of tax regulations and ability to assist tax advisors with filing requirements
  • Strong attention to detail combined with critical thinking/decision making skills
  • Strong sense of self-motivation and ability to lead/mentor finance team members
