GENERAL PURPOSE:Oversee all facets of store operations. Lead the store to ensure compliance with company standards and best practices. Recruit, train, and develop the leadership team to achieve desired sales and profitability, while fostering a welcoming shopping atmosphere. Manage the Stockroom, Front End, and Sales Floor operations to ensure timely merchandise delivery, proper goods receipt, and effective expense management through best practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operational Responsibilities:
Implement company best practices to maximize productivity and minimize unnecessary steps.
Review store reports to assess controllable expenses and overall performance.
Address any discrepancies in company standards with appropriate action plans, collaborating with management as necessary.
Ensure effective scheduling of associates to meet business needs.
Accept special assignments as directed by leadership.
Manage payroll administration, including daily edits, scheduling compliance, and reporting as required.
Team Development:
Recruit, hire, train, and develop Assistant Managers and Associates.
Focus on reducing turnover through effective selection, training, and motivation. Utilize retention tools such as incentive programs and recognition opportunities. Ensure timely completion of required training courses.
Address personnel and performance issues, including coaching and disciplinary actions when necessary.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Manage associate relations issues in consultation with management as needed.
Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations.
Expense Management:
Ensure all expenditures remain within budget.
Control payroll hours as the primary variable expense, adjusting according to business trends.
Safety and Security:
Uphold company safety policies to ensure the well-being of associates and customers.
Ensure all associates are trained in emergency procedures.
Customer Engagement:
Treat all customers and associates with respect and professionalism.
Demonstrate courtesy and friendliness at all times. Recognize associates through company recognition programs.
Implement customer service and merchandise presentation programs through effective training and supervision.
Supervise and coach retail associates to provide efficient and friendly service across all areas of the store.
Store Presentation:
Lead associates in maintaining a professional appearance in line with company standards.
Represent and uphold the company brand consistently.
Ensure the store environment is clean, organized, and inviting.
Maintain high housekeeping standards with the assistance of maintenance personnel and associates.
Merchandise Management:
Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are executed to company standards through effective task assignment and follow-up.
Ensure merchandise is displayed and organized according to company guidelines.
Manage merchandise processing to the sales floor within expected timeframes.
Loss Prevention:
Train associates on loss prevention strategies to meet store shortage goals.
Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions with associates and customers. Safeguard confidential information and merchandise.
Comply with loss prevention awareness programs and maintain a strong customer service presence on the sales floor.
Lead the annual inventory process, ensuring adherence to guidelines.
Monitor stock policies to ensure proper administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of five years of management experience in a retail setting.
High level of customer service is essential.
Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate associates at all levels.
Strong skills in training, coaching, and developing associates.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to achieve goals effectively.
Fluency in English is required.
Must demonstrate independent judgment and discretion.
Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to operate all store equipment as necessary.
Ability to spend significant time standing, walking, and moving throughout the store.
Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
Ability to occasionally lift more than 25 lbs.
Ability to use janitorial equipment and other assigned tools.
Ability to perform basic math calculations commonly used in retail.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct supervision of Assistant Store Managers, Area Supervisors, and all Retail Associates.
