UNM Obstetrics and Gynecology's MidwiferyDivision has a busy clinical practice and is active in education.The position willmanage women's health care, focusing particularly on pregnancy, childbirth,the postpartum period, care of the newborn, and the family planning andgynecologic needs of women.Theposition will practice within the health care system and perform consultation,collaborative management, or referral, as indicated by the health status of theclient. The position will practice in accord with the Standards for thePractice of Midwifery, as defined by the American College of Nurse-Midwives.The candidate hired will be expected toparticipate in the education and training of student nurse midwives and otheradvanced practice providers, medical students, residents, and fellows in theclinical setting.Classroom education ofthese learners may also be a possibility.A demonstrated commitment to diversity,equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diversecommunities.The University ofNew Mexico, Health Sciences Center is the largest academic health complex inthe state.
