Job Description

Hilltop Securities Inc. is currently looking to hire a junior risk analyst that will focus on counterparty credit exposures and credit risk metrics. This individual will be a part of the Strategic & Risk Management team and helping the team build out a robust governance framework to manage the firm's market, liquidity, and credit risks.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze risks, including operational, market, liquidity and credit, within our business units and ensure alignment with enterprise policies and control frameworks
  • Ability to reliably manipulate and analyze large data sets to identify trends, patterns and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to implement risk mitigation measures and enhance report automation
  • Maintain records to ensure accuracy with a great attention to detail to support counterparty risk reporting (stress testing, probability of default, etc.) to business heads and executive management
  • Evaluate, monitor and report on counterparty credit exposures and credit risk metrics
  • Partner with experienced subject matter experts to build knowledge of covered products, macroeconomic scenarios, and relevant credit risk trends
  • Interact with internal stakeholders to identify, analyze and resolve complex problems
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited university with a degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Previous experience in a financial institution a plus
  • Knowledge of financial markets, fixed income products, and trading lifecycle a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office products including extensive knowledge of MS Excel
  • Candidate MUST have authorization to work for any employer in the US without requiring sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret large data sets
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg, Excel/VBA, SQL, Python, and data visualization tools such as Tableau is a plus
